I have suspected lingering shoulder issues for a while now, and little things keep poping up that make that seem more apparent.

1. He has a history of bad shoulders
2. As mentioned, he isnt slapping it very often (sometimes it's things like arm extensions behind your body that cause trouble, not hitting etc)
3. When he went down, I believe it was game two, he got hit in the shoulder in what looked like a harmless play, he was lingering and in alot of pain, yet no trainer attended to him to even see if he was okay? Why unless they know exactly whats up?

At the end of the day though, half the players in the playoffs are playing through injury, injuries that in the regular season they'd be out for surgery etc.

Personally, it doesn't look like a physical injury. Which is even more worrying.

The trainer didn't come out cause he wasn't signalled. He's not the kind of player to flop all over the ice when he's hurt so unless he had stayed down a while I can see why he didn't come out.

I dont mean just that, but the trainer didnt even tend to him or approach him on the bench to see if anything was up.

Richards isn't injured he is just lazy. I'm surprised Carter didn't skip as well.

It fits the bill for a concussion. Has he had any hits or anything?

Is coughing a concussion symptom?

Between the Olympics, playoffs, and the last two seasons, he's been a workhorse, all of them have. He's got to be pretty ****ing tired, but here's to hoping he's got 20 games left in him.
That guy is a straight up athlete; I swear he averages 28-30+ minutes a night all season long (plus post season)...just when you think they've worn him out; he goes back out and skates even harder and faster.

Richards it's probably my favorite player on the NHL.. But in this year playoff so far.. Where is he ?? No physic play.. No skate.. bad decision with the puck exept de tromendus pass to Zherdev in game 3. Mike Richards is simply too good to be invisible during this series against Buffalo. The Flyers need him!

It will be fascinating to see just what exactly his ailment is when the season is over. I'll be surprised if this hasn't been going on since before Christmas. He was kept out of the Flyers Skills Competition right before Christmas as it was a "maintenance day," which isn't really kosher to keep your team captain out of a team event with your fans.

Even though we did not miss a lot of man games due to injury, I have to think lingering ailments are a serious problem for the team.

Especially since January. The Olympic break last year was a godsend for us.

I just spent five days in the hospital with double(walking) pneumonia and cough is what I did for 10 days leading up to going in.There is all types of weird viral, fungal and bacterial crap going around. It will be interesting to find out what up with him because he is just not the same player he was earlier in the season.
