Haren is a beast. Also, Weaver managed to strikeout 15 batters two days before.
I think the Angels rotation will be pretty solid as long as Kazmir doesn't pitch. It looks like Weaver, Haren, Santana, Pineiro, Palmer/Bell/Chatwood.
I really hope the Chatwood kid gets a couple more starts. He had a great season in the minors and although he only pitched one game in AAA, he's got the stuff to succeed. Mid 90s fastball, high groundball rate, decent strikeout rate. The only thing he needs to work on is control (lowering walks).
Chatwood tosses a gem vs a strong White Sox lineup. His line was: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 HR. 5 groundball outs to 6 flyball outs (including 3 double plays!)
The Angels are really giving all the youngsters a chance. Trumbo, Conger, Walden, and Chatwood are all rookies. If they manage to get consistent playing time and playing at this level, we're looking at a whole bunch of Rookie of the Year candidates.
Not to mention Bourjos, Aybar, Kendrick, Morales, Weaver, and Santana are all young uns as well, along with the bullpen arms Thompson, Kohn, Jepsen.
Angels need to hit better than yesterday to beat Texas tonight.
Cmon Halos, win streak please.
Naw, I actually liked the outcome last night. Loved the kid that hopped the railing and caught Beltre's homer... that was awesome and he got tons of scoreboard time the rest of the night.

A Rangers fan, on this board?
I know its a different sport... but I am quite disappointed in you
And by the way, I'm really enjoying tonight's score

Well... I do live in Texas
I am a native Californian, but the only reason I became a Ducks fan was because my dad was a programmer for Disney when the team came into the league. I got comped a bunch of stuff and got addicted.
Never really cared for the Angels (was a Dodgers fan up until '86 when they traded Steve Garvey).
Weaver and Haren have been studs thus far. Big series against Boston, would be great to keep their (Boston's) lackluster start going.

Fair enough. We've got the Ducks at least!

Walter O'Malley rolling over in his grave.
(Wait, the McCourts built condos over his grave )
Pretty embarrassing. I almost feel bad that Dodger fans had to deal with the McCourts these last few years. The Dodger fans I know were celebrating yesterday like it was a holiday
Mike Scioscia has been letting the kids play, and its led to wins. Still, however, I see Jeff Mathis' name in the lineup too many ****ing times. He sucks. DFA him.
