Yep. With guys like Penner, Smyth, and Handzus in our Top 6 it's bound to happen a lot. We have too many slow players.

Regardless of outcome of this series blame should be put on Kings management you guys were firing on all cylinders when they brought Penner who rubbed off Getzlaf and Perry in 07 and got griddy got his money and relaxed. IMO you got shafted, management should have brought a veteran player who is proven leader or a big time scorer.

I'm so dejected right now. I didn't feel safe all game considering how quick they were up but there's no excuse to lose that game, they deserve to lose the series

Fair point, but like I said, I don't know if any coach calls it in that situation, yes it was the 5-4 goal, but, they still had the lead, they responded right away to the 4-3 goal, no reason to lose confidence that they wouldn't respond here, you still have 20 minutes left, who knows what happens in the 3rd, you try and survive that 2 minutes and get at them in the intermission.

That is where the real coaching fail came, the message he tried to send was either not received, or absolutely ********, he has to do a better job of absolutely ripping into the team with an effort like that.

Also, the matchups were a joke tonight, last change, no way we should be giving up the matchups in a home game.

It's about effort and focus. Abominable backchecking tonight by almost everyone on the team. They got cocky after the first because they didn't earn most of those goals and fell apart because they got outworked.

It's not coaching, the players ****ing blew it. I don't think it's fair to deflect any of the blame from them onto anyone who was off the ice tonight. Just pathetic.

Mitchell had to stand there though, Doughty was also in the corner, so Mitchell couldnt go to Clowe until he got the shout from Doughty to know Doughty was back infront of the goal.

Positives!!!!!!!!!

This team wasn't going to compete for the cup this year, and this game will make them stronger in the long run. In the playoffs next year, when up 3-0, you know they wont relax after tonight

This was almost fitting considering that ten years ago yesterday was the Stunner at Staples.

How did the Wings rebound the next year...........they won the cup.

LITN has been on the good part of one of these as a Liverpool fan. I have been on the good side with the 2002 Angels.

It really sucks to be on the bad side of one.

I really feel numb right now.

I've seen worse.

Still, its a tough loss but I knew when we got that fourth goal on a stickless goalie the Kings were going to let up and it cost them.

Great lesson for the future.

Got to hand it to the Sharks, they took the game over completely in the second period...**** happens.

They signed a couple of high-powered free agents - aka Luc and Hull

Well I expected at least one game like this. It's going to happen with the Kings most important players being still really young.

You take your foot off the gas in the playoff's. and you get what happened tonight, and what happened to the Nucks.

How on earth do you play matchups? The sharks have 3 scoring lines and the Kings don't have a shutdown line, or a scoring line.

But really, if you lose a 4-0 lead and it gets to 5-5 with any decent coach the question you ask is "When did you take the timeout?" Some might do it after the 2nd, some the 3rd, some the 4th goal. No coach worth his salt doesn't call a timeout. If you're losing a lead and scrambling you don't go "Hmm, I wonder when this'll stop, hope it's soon", you call a timeout and calm down your players. Especially considering how young the Kings are.

And when through three games the same cross ice pass is getting through, you change your D strategy. Both OT goals were almost exactly the same. And there were 2 or 3 scoring chances throughout the game that were similar. That's on the coach.
About the timeout, like I said, there was not an instance in the 2nd, where I said, use the timeout, the goals were just breakdowns, and not back to back, they responded right away on one of them, it's a tough call to burn the timeout like that. McCellan had an easier call on his any day of the week.

As far as the cross ice pass etc, that's not a defensive strategy breakdown, that's the offensive 2-1-2 cycle getting caught, if that was Richardson, Kopitar, Simmonds, etc out there, that pass doesn't go through because of the backchecking, Penner, Handzus, that pass goes through.

But this happens all the time. And it's been happening since he got here.

He obviously isn't a coach who likes to match lines.

Murray should understand that this is a young team, and young teams can get away from their game. He should have used the timeout.

Anyways, it's everyone's fault. The coaching staff and the players.
