Yup.

Where are all the Ottawa fans who could have driven down to watch playoff hockey?

Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder the same thing. Maybe now that he has a kid, he just said, i'm done with hockey. Tough.

Alright, here's how this breaks down.

Bobby Butler has checked out. His mind is in Ottawa next season. Greening is tired, you can tell that, and Z.Smith is trying to make something happen.

We are NOT playing the OB/Condra/Daugavins line nearly enough. OB carried us into the playoffs on his back and he's getting like 7 mins of ice time. That's ********. K-Daugs had 4-5 really close shots at a goal last night at the beginning of the game, and worked his ass off and he was hardly on the ice in the third. Same with Condra. It's so frustrating.

The only line producing, Keller/Potulny/Wick. Actually Wick should be left off as well, he looks either tired or disinterested in playing again. I'm leaning towards being tired and beat down, because he still has wired a few shots in these games. Can't say enough about the need to resign both Keller and Potulny for B-Sens next season. Potulny is legit.

Dz/Bass/Grant, can't say enough praise about this line. The only line that shows ANY energy out there every shift. Throwing checks last night, trying to get things going, taking pucks away in the corners. This line is awesome as a shutdown checking/energy line. The one bright spot.

Bottom line here, is that I think the call-ups hurt these players from a fatigue factor. Either that, or they just don't give a crap. They seem to think that they can just stick handle and everything will be ok. They are rushing passes and not controlling play. For streaks at a time, they will make tape-to-tape passes and then a light switch goes off and they just start blindly tossing the puck around. It's a disaster out there.

Defense...

We just don't have the players. Period. And Wiercioch is pissing me off big time. Patrick, if you read these forums, SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK. He must have had a standing order not to shoot last night because he'd much rather look to pass.

All of the D-men need to step up to the puck too. Way too many times they just let Manchester walk into the zone with the puck when they could have broken up a play. Back-checking was terrible.

Ok rant over for now.
Thanks for your view. Butler checking out? That is exactly the type of attitude that will get him in trouble.

Isn't Murray at these games? At a team leading -6, someone should tell him it is not time to "check out" and look forward to next season. By evidence of his +/- stat, he needs to pick up the defensive part of his game, sniper or not. Not doing too much sniping at the moment either.

We'll learn alot about the supposed prospects on this team in Thursday nights game. The guys who play like they agree with you will never be NHL players - or at least not guys I want to play for Ottawa.

The guys who come out and play like the series is still on are the keepers.

I don't know... Seems like an impossible task to win 3 straight the way these games have been going...

KK now has to fix everything these kids learned or forgot while playing under the worst coach in the nhl this year, Cory F%#$ing Cloutson.

If we pull of three in a row, two on away ice, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I don't see that happening though. Unless they finally start clicking, finishing checks, and this team turns on for a full 60 minutes of hockey.

While I want to see them rip off three in a row, I really just want to win the game at home tonight. Worry about Game 6 and 7 later.

I never really was a fan of Hale up in Ottawa but I recognize his importance to Bingo. If this is the case that's really rough, but I guess I understand the kid part

Alright, here's how this breaks down.

Thanks for your input on this one. I was partly right. Like the first game Butler and Smith give up a two on one, goal. It seems Butler and Smith and Greening are being given the keys and they're just not interested in carrying the team. It wouldn't surprise me if they just don't care because they'll be sens as soon as these few games are over. If this is true, but i hope it isn't, that really sucks.
With the D there isn't much you can do when one more D seems to go down per night. I thought we'd be way better but fatigue, injuries and a really good Monarchs club hurts our chances

Ok rant over for now.
My commments in bold. Love getting the Bsens views on things, always appreciated

I guess the no-pressure tank games most of those guys played with the Sens is really paying off when the pressure kicks in...

Why are we acting like Bingo was the top team in the AHL. I know we want our players to do well, but even before all the call ups its not like they were divison leaders. It was going to take 100% effort to win a round, sadly with the way they have played that just is not likely to happen.

Its very disapointing, but some of you are writing as if Bingo was the overall fav for the Calder Cup.

Alot of people figured AHL callups playing big roles in meaningless 0 pressure games meant that when they went down to Bingo they would be world beaters

Better to get a chance to play NHL hockey than not to, no matter what type of game it is.

It's been a long year for a lot of first-year pros. The day-to-day grind is something that needs to be experienced, and while I hope they can pull it off against the Monarchs- let's not start damning any of these guys if we don't. There have been lots of lessons learned, and generally the best are learned the hard way.

1. I'm not sure what else Murray could have done with guys being traded & not replaced & so many guys going down with injuries. Where else are they suppose to get players from & isn't that why you have a farm team?

2. Maybe the B-Sens aren't quite as good as we hoped they would be afterall they barely made the playoffs. Let's hope for a better effort tonight but they had there opportunities to win game 3 & 4 but basically blew it. Brust has to be better but I guess now they will see, if Lehner can be the man. They need great goaltending & need to be much better as a team defensively, the defence needs to step up too.

3. I also think we have to consider that a number of these guys have played a lot of hockey this yr & they just aren't used to it especially the guys in college who play a 30/40 game schedule. I would agree that it could be a fatigue thing but not just because of the callups, we don't have to blame Ottawa or Murray for everything.

Go B-Sens Go.

That last goal on Brust was just horrendous. He's better than that.

Go Lehner.

Wamsley and assistant coach Steve Stirling ran the skate while Kleinendorst watched from the stands with Senators GM Bryan Murray and Assistant GM Tim Murray.
