The assman likes the assline. I am not sold. Sturm and Semin have shown me little chemistry offensively. You cant beat Laich Arnott Semin for 2 IMO. Fehr up top is what I would do, instead of shaking up 3 lines for one injury.

That the lineup tonight? That's what I would prefer.

They will miss Knuble's net presence. It's a blow. Fehr has a knack for scoring different types of goals, if the Rangers give him his preferred lanes at the circles. Someone else, Laich probably, is going to need to get in Lundqvist's kitchen.

I'm with you on that third/speed line of Sturm-MAJO-Chimera.

Not crazy about separating Semin from Arnott. Arnott's good for Semin's game. Also think Laich rejoining this line would be beneficial for him.

From time to time I've felt that Fehr was the heir apparent for Knuble's position at RW on Line 1. Well now's as good as time as any. Fehr may not be as deft as Knuble is around the crease but he has some other tangibles, such as roofing it and he does seem to bring it during big games.

The problem I have with the SOB line is that at times they try to be too stylistic with the puck looking to make the highlight reels with their no look passes, drop passes that sometimes lead to odd man rushes going the other way. Plus Backstrom becomes too dependent on just trying to pass to Ovie or Semin rather than shoot the puck himself.

Still think it's in the team and Hendricks' interest to sit him for a game. Re-charge his batteries so to speak.

I think so. Vogel says 25 on top line, 16 on 3rd line.

There needs to be more talk here about today being the one year anniversary of the BP oil spill. It could just be too much for the Caps to overcome.

Lock Twit: Can't let Prust, Boyle and Avery stir the pot tonight.

I tend to agree. We haven't really had an answer for them just yet. Either we neutralize them, or do our own running around and create havoc. A key point in the last game was Boyle getting Carlson off the ice. Hannan had to play with Alzner, and one of those two screwed up on the GWG. Lets see our grit players get one of their dmen off the ice and shake up their pairings.

Its time for Hendricks to do his thing or be sat for Beagle.

8-19-25
18-44-28
16-90-21
10-16-26

or are 18 and 21 swapping spots?

Shoot. I wish. Sturm on the second line is poop.

So Fehr is playing both the 3rd and 4th lines?

Why not, double shift him he's had the rest. Besides Boyd Gordon has yet to hit anyone.

Please no SOB line. Just lets Torts have an easier job matching up. Fehr or Chimera on the top line and have Arnott and Semin play against the weaker D.

Haha I agree. I think the Caps need to take some B-12 vitamins before the game tonight. It works when I play basketball/soccer.

Hopefully Hendricks shows up in NY this game. Believe he was left in DC on Sunday.

are you saying that fehr isnt a dirty goal/score in the paint scorer like knuble? are you saying that he likes to shoot the puck between the circle dots rather than create chaos in the crease?

Knoobs is a significant loss IMO. But we have some depth. Let's see if Fehr can make a statement.

I think he is, just no where as accomplished at it and he doesn't have the leadership and experience intangibles.

They'll definitely miss Knuble's net presence but a forward with more speed and possession ability should help the top line get through the neutral zone and establish a forecheck. I don't trust Chimera all that much but he should be able to help in that regard and Laich should be able to provide a PP net presence. God forbid this team's forwards play at the top of their game offensively for once.

i understand. i just got some grief recently for describing fehr in this similar way. of course fehr doesnt have the leadership and intangibles either.

the drift i get is that many on this board want fehr in the lineup. whoever misses to create that slot is fine and it being knuble wont hurt. by disagreeing with that i am pinned as building an excuse for the coming doom.

the caps need more experienced leadership, not less. they need more scoring in the paint, not less.

i hope fehr has a big game.

Yep, Knuble's absence will be our reason for scoring 1-2 goals tonight. Otherwise we were right on schedule for a game 4 offensive explosion.
