Why though, can't blame the refs, Richie didn't tie the game, Lavy can't make excuses.

Can never discount their ability to lead though.
As I said, the Flyers on talent alone should be beating the Sabres, so what is the excuse?? Yes, Miller made some great saves, timely saves. One of the best goalies in the NHL. He will never win a Cup in Buffalo, they are not concerned enough about winning and spending the dough.

We are talking Philly where this team made it to the ECF's in 2007-08, 2009-10, and the SCF's in 2009-10, epxerience is there. Check.

Homer trades away Sbisa and a couple #1's to get this team over the hump, signs Timonen and Hartnell in a trade. Pays Briere to fill needs on the PP.

Trade Gagne for Meszaros to add some depth on the blueline.

Yes, this team is much like the other teams who do not go out and spend the dough to put kids like Carter and Richards in a position to win now!

Agreed, Laviolette was doing exactly what Timonen did.....show some emotion, get a little angry, fight back.

I'm sorry, what? The sabres are just as concerned with winning as the other teams. They also have a new owner with megabucks and a loyal fanbase. Look around and you'll see other teams who are going for it all this year, Vancouver, Detroit, etc. No matter how loudly you kick and scream and cry, only one team can win it all while the rest will be disappointed. It's called sport.

I peg you to be 23 years old with your childish behaviour. You should of been around in the good ol days when losing was cool and acceptable if we tried hard and lead good

Every player on the Flyers roster should have a poster of the Hawks raising the Cup in their building.

As a matter of fact:

"Once you get older you realize you don't have that many chances left," he said. "I'm 36. How many years I can keep going I don't know, but it's not too many. I don't know how many years I have left on these stumpy little legs. I hope it's this year (that we win the Cup). Once you get older you realize time is closing in, so you have to take advantage every time you have a chance to do that."

“After what happened in the playoffs last year,” Briere said after practice Monday, “even though we played until June, I couldn't wait to get back again.”

“We were ready to play, no doubt about it,” Briere said. “That's never going to replace what happened last June, but we did remember it and that's one of the reasons we were ready. We didn't want to give them an inch. We didn't want to leave that building thinking, 'Man, they really have our number.' We made sure we put it all out there.”

"You know what it takes to win," Laviolette said. "You've got to be on your toes, and the froth has to be coming from your mouth, and you have to be willing to tear the door off its hinges to get on the ice. Then you've got winning hockey."

Actually, in the old days losing was not acceptable. From the fans, to the players, to the organizations, teams in Philly are expected to win(except the Sixers, but who cares). And yes, posting a troll in regards to another person offering an opinion is pretty darn childish.

I can do this all day. Coach made his peace, game over, understand?? Not crying about it. It is the coaches job to hold the refs acountable, once that moment passes, the game is over there is nothing you can do about it.

Keep trying, but I just lapped you.

Switch that to 2 players and your rants make sense. You have admitted before you have no problem with losing in the past cause you claim guys tried harder and were great leaders, yet now you claim to want to win so bad, but it all lies on 2 guys shoulders and if we don't win it's all on them ?

Excuses. Detroit is a well run organization, they develop and retain talent that works for their system and have continuity of their coaching and players.

Vancouver has gone out and done their research and spent their money. Defense and a goalie, plus some scoring depth, but they have invested wisely and are redy to compete for the Cup.

Bottom line, the Sabres are not as good of a team, nor do they have the talent level to compete with the Flyers. This should be a first round win.

Yet a 40 something grown man who searches posts to criticize and single out 2 players isn't childish ? After the wins you are no where to be found ?

You mean giving the Sedins time to try and become winners ?? *****ing about how Kesler wasn't worth 1.9 million dollars, even though the Flyers knew he was ?? Your reasoning, shouldn't Nucks traded them by now as they have yet to win and are nothing?? Or because they lead in points, yet still have no cup it is OK ?

Get your quotes straight, those are not my words. Those last words are really, truly, meaningful. Yes, I am the one who will support my #17 and #18 and kick and scream when anyone says a bad word about them......oh wait, that is you.

Im just gonna be pissed we lose this series and pittsburgh moves on and the same with Montreal. The boys need to get their act together and start playing desperate hockey here. Its a must win next game, as they seem to play better on the road than at home lately.

Present and accounted for at the last parade in 1975. Family season ticket holder in the 1980s via my fathers business, sitting and watching in the last glorious attempt to win Lord Stanley's Cup in 1987, game 6. That team had a ton more heart than this group has shown to this point, although last seasons magical run was impressive. Time to take the next step, get off the training wheels and ride by yourself.

The comment about Briere and Giroux is I am not really concerned, I know they will show up in the playoffs, that is their pedigree over the last couple runs, lead by example.

I am truly hurt by your words.

Three years ago, a lot of Vancouver fans complained that the Sedins would never step it up during the playoffs and that it was time to go in a different direction. Just saying.

The organization invested a lot of money in surrounding them with the right talent to win. They still are an unproven commodity but I watched some of their games against Chicago and they are scary good. Their puck movement is excellent, much like how the Flyers were able to make the Sabres look silly in the last 10 minutes of the game last night, almost like a PP. So long as Luongo does not lose them a series against Detroit they are odds on favorites at this point of the game.

Philly is now, this is three years of putting the pieces together, gaining the experience. Now just get it done.
