You can't just pass up opportunities to fill holes with good players just because you feel it's not gonna make you a legit Cup contender. You aren't gonna be able to fill every hole in one offseason. Gotta fill em when you can and who knows if a guy like Richards who fills multiple needs will pop up again down the line.

Fedotenko might turn it down though if some other team offers him a 3-4 year deal.

Nobody's giving Ruslan Fedotenko a 3 or 4 year deal. 4/20's over, man.

Have you watched him in the last 10 games or so? In the playoffs especially he looks terrible, falls down several times every shift, and his skating is painful to watch.

If we sign Richards, Stepan might be trade bait maybe for the likes of Iginla.

He's not going to get more than $2.5, in my opinion - and that's stretching it.

I think he'll get $1-$1.5, maybe $2 mill.

Feds has always been who he is. Nothing more, nothing less. It's going to be up to the Rangers if they want him back or not on their own accord. Not if they can afford him or not.

I think Feds will come back on a reasonable deal for both sides, from coming in as a tryout to his play this year he deserves a guaranteed contract. And if he struggles next year, and someone like Hagelin is ready for that spot you know Sather will have no problem waiving him.

it's all about track record. You dont bet on players who are coming off of career years...you dont sign Drury because he had 1 or 2 outlier years before he became a free agent, or same with Gomez, AND you don't sign players trending downwards.

This is why I wanted Kovalchuk, and this is why I want Richards. Richards isn't a player who is trending downward, and hes a player with a long track record.

DO IT.

This is my thinking. Richards is going to be good for atleast another 3-4 years before he starts to decline

Knowing Sather he'll sign Richards for 8 years.

What are we going to with him for the other 4-5?

Sather will give him 6-7. I agree that it is a dangerous move, but you gotta do what you gotta do to be competitive and make this team better

As fans we can debate all the time about whether to sign BR or not but fact is the Rangers have shown a Ton of interest. They ARE going after him come July 1st

Sather will offer a fat contract. Torts loves it as they won a cup together.

I am totally on board. Oh darn a number 1 C that will help the PP.

Knowing what I know now, ie after the Cup in 94', I wouldn't even care what we do with him. IF we win The Cup.

Gaborik is just not same player he was a year ago. Where is the creativity, the amazing passes, the sniper shots, the tricky shots? we should probably look to trade him.

If Tortorella was a good coach Rangers would be prepared for this game and would be truly playing like their backs were against the wall. But all I see is Caps dominating more than in any other game.

The players are adults. They either want to come and play or they don't. The coach can only do SO much.

With all the people calling for Gaborik's head, why sign Richards then?

IMO, trading Gaborik and bringing in Richards keeps this team right where they are now...

for PP, for passing, for having a top center, for winning more faceoffs.

Doesn't look like coach does much of anything as we are down 0-2 in an elimination game.

You have a top center with no top winger to play with...

Stepan has to learn to skate first.

You can have the three of them along with Richards. I'd trade Drury for Richards every day of the week.
