He got the green light to work out harder and practice harder on the ice. This was announced last week I think.

I have no problems bringing him back next year...whether we win the cup or lose this round it doesn't matter...

I think as a fanbase we shouldn't be willing to waste a precious talent in order to win a series by putting him in jeopardy...

You think he won't be a target again? Ask Mike Green

TBH this offseason will be key in determining the future of this team because we have a real identity and the cap space to make something of it...and Patches will be a HUGE part of that identity

Green light to train hard. Probably won't see him until pre-season next year.

That's what I want ... a guy who's 100% with 6 months of training and someone who's ready to prove to anyone that we just saw the beginning of what Pacioretty can be!

He's able to train now, but I haven't heard anywhere that he's cleared for physical contact.

It still sounds like a long way to go even if there are no post concussion setbacks.

I don't think there was any news that he'll be close to actually playing in a game. Basically people overreacting to him being allowed to train/workout on and off the ice.

Well if hes working out hard, he is presumably working out hard playing hockey, not polo, water skiing or lacrosse.

Hes been skating, shooting, stick handling, chasing the puck against other guys.

It doesn't seem like a massive stretch to see him actually playing in a game, because thats essentially what he`s been doing for a couple of weeks.

They say he should take the summer off but I betcha hes gonna be in the X games doing flips on a motorcycle just to get his frustration out.

His agent said he wouldn't be back until at least training camp, so don't expect him to return during the playoffs...

Maybe he'd go out on a Connecticut golf course (with the Islanders?) or square off the Leafs on the links?

The difference between being cleared for harder training is a massive one from being cleared for contact when a player's recovering from a concussion. Even after a guy gets cleared for contact by team doctors it's very rare to see him step into the line-up without a few practices under his belt.

Why would people think that Pax is close to a return when Crosby is not even playing in his serie.

No brainer really.

It's been covered - the concussion is not of the same degree. Anyway, let the kid rest, we weren't make it to the top without Gorges and Markov anyway.......God I miss those two.

Crosby =/= Pacioretty

Different person = Different symptoms and recovery

Can you imagine that team with Markov, Gorges and Pacioretty

Because the two incidents are completely different.

Why do people insist on comparing Crosby's concussion with Pacioretty's ? I don't understand this.

I agree with that but I still don't get why Martin said that MaxPac could be back for the playoffs 4-5 weeks ago.

Because in a different time and age, Crosby would be on the ice today I believe. But they are not taking any chances with this. This guy is worth millions to the League.

Same with Pax, although to a different scale. And let me remind you that the guy had ALSO a broken neck, about 6 weeks ago.

I'm not comparing the concussions, I'm comparing the medical cases. How quick do you come back from a broken neck and a concussion, in a game where speed and toughness is primordial? The answer is not 6 weeks.

Not in 2011. Not anymore. The players and organisations are way more concerned about this stuff than before. Training camp is the best bet.
