Lundqvist not a finalist for Vezina

Bob McKenzie on twitter
Thomas, Rinne and Luongo Vezina finalists. BTW, Vezina is voted on by 30 NHL general managers.

At least Rinne gets a nod. But Luongo? Meh.

A league high 11 shutouts in front of this team with a very respectable GAA and he's not even nominated. **** that.

I could see Thomas & Rinne but Luongo?

Cam Ward does more with less then Luongo, let alone Hank.

I wonder if the league leader in shutouts has ever not been at least a Vezina nominee. Luongo? LUONGO? Please.

What do you mean "really"? Have you been under a rock or are just a huge, irrational homer?

Lundqvist or Price should definitely be there ahead of Luongo.

Agreed. It's not like Luongo's numbers were phenomenal considering he was on a stacked team.

One of these years Lundqvist will win a Vezina.

I might be able to tolerate if it was Price over Lundqvist. But LOLongo? Pathetic.

Guys, Luongo had better stats than Lundqvist in every category except shutouts. This is hardly surprising, or unjust.

What about games?

Plus look at what Luongo's backup did. On that stacked a team it's easy for a goalie to put up huge numbers.

This does not change the fact that he is still an elite goaltender.

Just compare the teams in front of them. Stats aren't everything.

No, they're not, and a great case could certainly be made for Henrik as a finalist over Luongo. But the fact remains that Luongo was a stud again this year, and his superior stats mean that all this outrage at him being a finalist is blatant homerism.

You also have to remember that Luongo has the most talented team in the league ahead of him. Compare the players that Lundqvist has in front of him to those that Luongo does and Hank still managed to lead the league in shutouts.

Pulling for Rinne, I want to see a Vezina winner starting more than 55 games.

Make note that all three of them have a spectacular defense in front of them. I don't care what people say. It really does matter.

Nah, I'd have Price in front of him, too. Not just Lundqvist. Maybe Ward, too.

I think it should have been Lundqvist or Price over Luongo, but its close enough that it could've went either way
