Pfft. Hank had a better Save % than TT and Luongo AND started 11 more games than TT and 8 more than Luongo.

I can understand Rinne or Thomas but Luongo? The guy's stats are super inflated for his stacked team. Funny how they also announce it after his second straight pull from a game .

Maybe Henry is a finalist for Hart?

Don't be such homers. He is not Vezina finalist this year, Period. Got to try it harder, if there is any room.

As a Flyers fan, I am shocked this guy isnt even nominated.
Luongo gets the Masterson/Presidents trophies.. hence why he is nominated. He doesnt deserve to win.
Tim Thomas will win the Vezina again, I believe.

I disagree, I definitely think he's one of the 3 best goalies in the league...

Price should have been nominated over Lou too, but hey, what's done is done. Hank's got a playoff game to win.

Alexander Brolov " Make note that all three of them have a spectacular defense in front of them. I don't care what people say. It really does matter."

I understand good defense is necessary but if your team cant score, you cant win games. Period. Thomas and Luongo have STACKED offenses and great defense. Rinne is the only goalie that is in a comparable situation with lundqvist. We had long stretches of not being able to score goals, we have a very inconsistent offense.

There are a lot of really good NHL goalies in the league right now. Hank had another good year to add to his resume even if he was not nominated for the Vezina.

It's not surprising. The Vezina is a stats competition.

********.

Also, ********.

Maaaaajor.

Would just ONE of the Vezina finalist like to try playing behind the New York Rangers?

Exactly.

Hank for Hart?
He, almost by himself, got us into the playoffs.

No problem in sounding homer here, IMO, bc who else is supposed to watch this team enough to realize his numbers were far worse than his actual performance...and his numbers were excellent.

Don't get me wrong. He is great goalie and probably one of the best in the NHL right now. With the strong offensive talent and sturdy defensive group in front of him he will definitely be number one. I hope it will happen with the Rangers.

Funny thing is I think Hank deserves the Hart Trophy more than the Vezina this year...

11 shutouts alone account for 25% of the teams wins...another 10 games where he only gave up one goal....

Basically 21 wins alone can be attributed to Hank on a team that won 44..... 48% of the wins...

thats just games where he shut out or gave up one

The Hart is appropriate, no one else on this team excelled....
no 25 goal scorer
no 55 point scorer

without him we were a 20 win team...

Whatever. Say what you want but I still think Hank is the best goalie in the league. Number 1.

I agree but you just know he's not going to win that.

I don't know if the voters have a say in who the finalists are, but without that large group of awards voters most familiar with Hank's play, he'd be likely to lose a hefty percentage of would-be voters.
GM's vote on Vezina, not media

I am in agreement and to the "stats aren't everything" remark, really? Not to fans for sure but have you seen these awards? 98% of how they are determined are from stats. Only the coaches (and probably GM) awards probably take their stats at 51% consideration. Richard nominees are stupid. Why do they bother? They will even have co-winners if players are tied. I doubt they look at empty nets goals and quality of goals scored. Same with the Art Ross trophy. The NHL war room does not care how poor quality of a team the goalie plays on. Or how impressive the forward rotation is. Only the fans do. Get over it or start an advocacy group for award nomination reform.

Then there were the games he stood on his head and we lost, at least 20 of them.

Him or Carey Price deserve it much more than Luongo do.

I guess 11 shutouts means you're not a Vezina finalist.

I just hope Hank wins his Vezina as a lifetime achievement award type of thing if he keeps getting screwed out of it by the flavor of the year goalie.

He has to win it eventually. Its inevitable, and if he keeps up this pace for another 5-7 years then Yonge Street may come calling.
