I dunno, I disagree with that to an extent. We played well in Buffalo both times so even if we lose tonight I have confidence we can take game 6 and force a game 7. Obviously, though, avoiding that would be fine and dandy.

eh...he may not be perfect, but they have a good offensive talent. That being said, if we have Pronger back and our best defensive pairing is out with them, then I am sure it will be fine.

Pronger update:

http://www.csnphilly.com/04/22/11/So...004&feedID=695

Quote:
While Chris Pronger seems to making progress on his injured right hand, a source close to the Flyers’ defenseman said he would not be ready for Game 5.
Officially, the Flyers are listing him as day-to-day.

Pronger is still experiencing pain in the fractured area around the right hand, the source said, adding he is still unable to take sufficient contact on the hand to defend himself on the ice.

Pronger took slap shots for the first time in weeks at the morning skate but also was wincing at times.

In fairness, his slap shots didn’t have as much authority on them as we’ve seen in the past. Pronger stayed on the ice after teammates left to shoot pucks.

It shouldn't be. He's not playing until he's absolutely needed, and he's not absolutely needed yet. The only reason I thought he might've gone tonight is because it has a possibility of being this year's last home game. I don't think it's going to be that, and he must not either.

Today is Good Friday. It will be a good Friday.

I"m OK with Pronger being out, they've controlled the puck and had the better scoring chances the entire series while playing good enough defense without him. Besides, if they need Pronger back in the lineup to get pumped for tonight, especially after the game 4 shenanigans, they're not fit to win a playoff series.

Giroux/JVR have been the Flyers two best forwards, don't saddle them with the offensive liability that is Darroll Powe. The way those two are creating, I like Z there to pop one in.

Which black ace is stepping in? I heard nodl and carter were out. Honestly wouldnt mind seeing Sesito or wellwood step onto that line. I think they both would be great fill ins. Powe needs to be on the fourth line and not play those second line minutes. We need him fresh for the penalty kill.

Carchidi has been tweeting all day that pronger will likely play. He gave it a 99% chance, as he was taking slappers in practice.

oh boy

We need certain #18's and #10's to start stepping up if we want to win this game and this series.

Unless either or both return for Game 6 or a potential Game 7, that is the prospect facing them currently.

Moen in Glory made this on the Playoff Board:

hopefully it alleviates the sadness of not having Carter or Pronger.

Is Carter going to pull a Willis Reed? If he can play on sunday he should be playing tonight.

As far as Pronger, if he is still having pain while taking slapshots it is a possible sign he will need another week, two days is not going to be a huge difference unless they are gambling they can win without both.

Pronger's availability would be limited at best and even if he returned tonight, chances are it would be reduced and not include the powerplay. In that possibility, there was a chance Syvret could have dressed as one of seven d-men.

No need to cite Willis Reed. The Flyers had their own example and his name was Dave Poulin in 1987 against the Islanders.

No love for our girl? I've been a little slow to get into playoff mode this year, but game 4 woke me up. I was singing God Bless America in the car on the way to work this morning. Speaking of which...why they heck didnt we close early so I could either a) drive up to philly or b) start pregaming!

Lets go!
