Timmy's gonna win it, but i think Rinne deserves a really good look. he's been a pretty underrated goalie up until this point.

My bad. I read the stats wrong. He still deserves to be nominated.

LOL, voters aren't going to take a nomination away from him just because he plays on a good team. You guys are brain dead homers.

When that team is very likely a big reason for why the stats are so good and you're screwing out guys like Price, Lundqvist, possibly Ward, some more analysis needs to go into the trophy other than "HURRDURR his stats r gud"

maybe 5 nominees would be better? There's always more than 3 deserving of recognition.

I would be ok with Thomas/Rinne/Lu/Hank/Price

I think Hank will say that this was not his best year...I also think there is a reason GM vote on certain awards so that they aren't stat driven and other factors are taken into account...again not saying Hank should be nominated only voicing my opinion on why GM's have a vote.

you're right.

there's even an argument that schneider has played just as well as luongo.

In my mind, if the Cannucks had Hank or Ward in goal they win their series 4-0.

If the Canucks had Hank, they'd probably have 2 Stanley Cups by now.

I would put Lundqvist in the final 3. Maybe he doesnt win it, but he should be there.
Just like Pronger should of been a Norris Finalist last season. Every year there is a controversal decision in award finalist it seems.

Some ridiculous homerism in this thread. Lundqvist still had his typical stretch where he couldn't stop a beach ball. Until he erases that month from his calendar he's not winning any Vezinas.

I'm sure he was 4th or 5th in voting anyway. Thomas was winning it this year regardless.

Lmfao, please let me know which month this was. And if you refer to February you're completely wrong, just letting you know now.

Yup, me too. Either way, it was always going to be a two-horse race between Thomas and Rinne.

this.

The award is meant to be for "the goaltender who is adjudged to be the best at his position" not the one who has the best statistics, it should be the one who has the best overall ability and talent.
