Adam Hall - Cheers or Jeers

Based soley on some good things I read about Adam Hall, I took him as a late pick in a keeper rotisserie style pool where goals, assists, PIM, +/-, shots, and special teams goals are the forward categories. I know what he looks like on paper (early stats look like John Leclair) but what I'm really looking for is a NHL comparison, predictions, etc. Basically any inside info would be good. I have been a Preds fan (since they drafted Hamhuis - a former Prince George Cougar who I loved watching) but it is hard to get a lot of comparitive info or informed opinions from here. Thanks in advance.

IMO, though he's off to a slow start so far, he's one of the most overlooked, unknown future STUD forwards in the NHL.

The biggest thing about him, from the eye of this fan, is his ability to show up unexpectedly in places you can't possibly immagine he'd get to...he seems to "teleport" if you will, suddenly popping up from the ice. More and more, as he gains expereince, those places are "the right place at the right time".

I'd say you've got a kid who, this season, will give you a few bits of padding when someone's injured...and over the next year or two, you'll have one of the real steals in your league.

I agree with bc - plus you can expect him to collect a fair amount of PP goals and PIMs, which should help with your scoring categories.

I going to have to disagree with these guys. I love Adam Hall but he's still really young. Honestly, he will be lucky to have as good of a year this year as last year. I really don't seem him putting up big numbers in any of the catagories that you've listed. I think he still needs a few more years before he's ready to break out and be close to a star player. He could turn out to be a solid player this year, but numbers wise he won't turn any heads.

I don't think we disagree at all, Doc. I said THIS YEAR he'd only "pad some numbers while you're got a guy out injured". As you say, a "solid player" but nothing spectacular.

I also said he'd be considered a real steal, but IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS.

So I think we're both dead on...I probably think he'll EVENTUALLY be a better player than you do, but we both agree he's a decent "fill in" on a fantasy roster this year, nothing more, and in 2-3 years, he will be significantly better.

I think 20-20-40 is a real expectation for Hall.
