The end was expected and for that reason not even disappointing. This is what #1 seeds do to #8 seeds that get in only by the grace of the shootout.

I'd call it an entertaining year that may herald good things for the future.

I haven't disliked a Ranger as much as I dislike Gabby since the "dark ages".

Such a shame only one squad of players came to play today...

When our offense doesn't match our defense we're in trouble...

We were out skated, out muscled and out played..

But all in all I'm pretty happy about the season, looking forward to next season...

Disappointing result. Losing in 6 or 7 would be acceptable. Losing in 5 or less is not. Feel for Hank. The fire truly burns in his belly. At least, take something ut of your opponent. The Caps will be well rested thanks to our failure.

POTG: Cannot see how it can go to anyone except Henrik.
Man, he must feel down. He's not a guy who takes this easily.

Not enough talent upfront despite heroic efforts on the back end with a really, really young blue line. We need more skilled players in our top 6 because when we're down by a goal or two, the other team doesn't have all that much to fear. We can talk about Gaborik all we want, but Ovechkin has Green, Backstrom, Semin, etc... to take the pressure off. Gaborik doesn't.

Thanks Hank. The rest of you? Not so much.

Gilroy had a good series, too.

there's no way to sugarcoat blowing game 4. it was a disaster.
A defensive team with a "great' goalie doesn't blow a 3 goal lead,
heading into the third.

that was an epic failure from the coaching staff on down. A disgraceful choke job.

did they look ready to play today's game? not a chance. just tough talk to try to save face from the game 4 disaster.

Yeah, considering this team was pegged by most to not even make the playoffs.

Definitely fell right on their ****ing faces.

On the bright side, this season is going to do wonders for the kids next year. Stepan stood out to me in this series as someone who was just worn down after an 82 game season, and understandably so given that he played more than twice as many games as he did last year in college.

And for as much as people are rightfully criticizing Gaborik (who I think we'll find out in a few days was playing hurt), Steps, Anisimov, Boyle, and for the most part Dubinsky were completely invisible in this series.

At least we discovered a good, young corp of dmen to move forward with. Plus we're one year closer to captain crutch's contract expiring.

Is it true Lundqvist cried?

Had some of our players played with an iota of emotion that Lundqvist had, we'd go far.

Agreed. And when the Caps are down by a goal or two, they can simply abandon the Trap and score goals, as they did in the last game.

The Caps showed in every single way why they are the better team.

Player of the season: Hank

Most improved: Gilroy, Boyle

Biggest disappointment: Gabby

Most dedicated: Callahan, Girardi

The Good: Team is young with a good foundation, and they care

The question-marks: McCabe, Wolski, Avery, EC, Drury

The Redden: Sather, we are NOT in a great position to elevate our talent level this off-season

Good series Rangers fans. Too bad there had to be so much childish trash talk in the Playoffs section. Ugh. Good luck in the future (legitimately, not being a sarcastic ass).

I think the one thing this series really showed is that you need SKILL as well as that emotion to win in the playoffs

Some of you keep saying how we weren't even supposed to make the playoffs or were the 8 seed so were supposed to lose. That's a BS way to look at things. Most of you who take this approach are probably jet fans.

Idk about anyone else but I don't settle for less just because that's the way it was supposed to go. Were a better team than the caps and we played like **** this entire series except 2nd period of game 4. Im disappointed that we couldn't go farther with the hardest working team we've had in years along with the best goalie hands down in the NHL. I'm disappointed yes but not upset. In fact I'm proud of the team.

We have hard working blue collar players...tons of them...now we need outright skilled players and next year can be very special with some additions

I don't think they all make as much as Gaborik combined. Or have the pedigree.
