Doan has said if the 'Yotes leave Phoenix he does not want to be a part of the franchise. He's got a list of teams he'd report to, there's I believe 14-15 of them. If the Rangers are one of them, Sather will make an offer before the draft. However, trading for Doan does take Richards out of the plans essentially.

It would be a Drury scenario if he comes, doesn't produce, and doesn't resign. That would be awful considering what we may end up trading to get him.

Doan, Iginla...their prime days are behind them. Kreider should never be mentioned in the same sentence as those 2. Doan will be 35 in October, while Iginla will be 34 in July
Now Nash on the other hand.....mmmm....Young and lethal.

While have a defender like Staal on the back end and a netminder like Lundqvist in his prime. I'd give up our first round pick, Kreider for Nash and something.

Step 2: Do something with Drury, Boogaard and Wolski
Step 3: Sign Brad Richards
Step 4: Find someone who can fix this horrendous power play. FA or Trade
Step 5 Look for trades that bring in talent. Prospects expendable: McIlrath, Grachev, 1st and Del Zotto (only for high quality players)

It's comparable. Drury has dropped off big time as he has surpassed 30...It's a risk to give up assets to aquire Doan who's turning 35 in October. He may not produce like he's known for. He's another PF type guy. They begin to drop off quicker.

those bottom lines are 4 of the 6 players weve had playing on the bottom lines this season, and they were awesome for us.
Your bottom 2 lines are fine but Hagelin is probably better served as a top 2 line guy in Hartford, and Avery I would rather replace with Zuccarello, and put Fedotenko for one more year with Boyle and Prust.

Just to clarify has Columbus management said anyone is tradable or are people just assuming because Columbus said big changes are coming that members of this board "potentially" see Nash as available?
Plus your package is over the top it wouldn't take that much. Columbus was heavily inquiring about MDZ awhile back so I would expect him, Kreider, 1st, and honestly probably a mid level cap hit going back like Wolski. I really don't see Sather parting ways with Dubinsky, Callahan, or Staal unless its Malkin, or Weber coming in here. Not a guy who's average pt total is 65 points or so.

We're in a better position to make a move like that, unlike Toronto. They skipped a step. We would be doing it to improve our skill up front. We already have a Gaborik in place. Toronto had nothing when they made that move and put tremendous pressure on Kessel.
Bottom line, if we can acquire a offensive player like Kessel for our 1st round pick-- I think we're at a certain stage where you do it.
