I want either Laviolette or Tippett. I doubt either one gets fired, though. For that matter, I doubt Terry Murray gets fired either.

Tony, only thing is what legitimate candidate would have playoffs experience? Maybe Clouston but I dont think hes all that good. Or Stevens but hes the heavy favorite obviously

Knowing how antiquated Lombardi is, those hirings wouldn't surprise me.

I don't think Murray's going anywhere, maybe if they blow this 3-0 lead, who knows.

But just for the sake of conversation, any chance Tippett (one) has an out in his contract if the team gets moved from Phoenix and (two) if so do you think he'd use it? I'll even go (three) and ask: if Tippett does suddenly becomes available does Lombardi can Murray to hire Tippett?

I am pretty sure that there is another robot out there that we can buy.

Doesn't one of us work in the robotics field? Can't we just build our own TM but one with an upgraded hard drive and maybe buy it a Bowman 3000 operating system?

I will pitch in.

im surprised pete deboer isnt on the list, he did a very good job in fla with no talent whatsoever. there were some growing pains moving to the nhl, but hes learned a lot. the next team that gets him will be getting a great coach imo.

The two names I've heard in here I like are Tippett and Boughner. Doubt TM gets fired, but if he does, these two names interest me. That said, I expect Tippett will stay in Phoenix/Winnipeg.

Boughner would be interesting for sure. Another name I'm interested in hearing about is Guy Carbonneau. Never agreed with him being canned by Montreal and had a record of 124-83 on a supposed low talent squad.

Carbs would be an interesting option. Hadn't thought of him.

My first overall choice is Bob Boughner. If he could be made available he would be one heck of a coach to get us to the next level.

I can't see Pho letting Tips out of his contract till the bitter end let alone firing him.

There are coaching options out there who might just be an improvement.

I don't think Murray gets fired but I'd like to see Kompon axed and replaced with Tocchet

Agreed. Not sure what spectrum of success DL and TM are looking at to base their belief in keeping Kompon.

Someone who can help develop our young players, and can run a good two way system.

Igor Larinov
Tony Granato
Kevin Dineen
Boughner
Tocchet

Those looking to whack Terry Murray if Kings fail to extend - over last 2 years Tippett 206 pts 3 playoff wins Murray 199 pts 3 playoff wins .

This is exactly why I am not in love with Tippet. His postseason record is just as bad as Terry Murray.

And Tippet had a stacked team in Dallas.

I'll coach, but be aware I don't like flying that much and I want a big recliner on the bench.

One guy that nobody is mentioning, which surprises me because they are good friends and have worked together before in San Jose....Darryl Sutter. Not sure if he would want to coach again, but he was very successful as a coach getting Calgary 1 win away from winning the Stanley Cup. He didn't work out as a GM but as a coach he is very good. This is assuming TM gets fired, which I highly doubt he will, especially if the Kings end up knocking out the Sharks.

One thought would be to hire Sutter as a replacement for Kompon. That way when Terry Murray is either let go or retires, you can choose between Sutter and Stevens as the next coach. Just a thought though.

Tippet wasn't in Dallas for those 2 years mentioned in the post you quoted. Those were with Phoenix... Was THAT team stacked? Not quite.

I know those years listed are with PHX. The Dallas team he took to the Conference Finals should have won the Cup.

He failed to do so and was fired. Terry Murray has been to just as far with a different team.

Regardless what anyone thinks of PHX talent level (It's no more OR LESS than the Kings). He has still failed to produce some post season success. Just Like Terry Murray.

Tippett is number one on my list if I had a choice and it was actually a possible option, but I doubt Lombardi fires Murray. I think we are stuck with him for better or worse.

A name mentioned here that peaked my curiosity is Keenan's, not because I think he will lead us to the promised land, but mostly because I think it would be interesting to see what he would do with this young team and to see his fire behind the bench and interesting interviews

Actually Terry took Philly to the Finals, so he is one up on Tippet.

In Seven Tries Dave Tippet coached Teams have gone out in the First round FIVE TIMES.

How many people know that ?? I bet not a lot Cause, cause you guys slobber all of him.

On another Note TRotz is just as bad in the postseason. Although this year he might coach his team past the Ducks.
