And Vancouver will have plenty of cap space to pay for his raise. By parting ways with Salo or Bieksa, they can even re-sign the other.

With Salo's injury history, I think it's quite possible Gillis opts to retain both Ehrhoff and Bieksa.

Call me crazy, but Hall is a guy I'd definitely like to see improved. He's a good soldier but, if possible, I'd like to see a bigger-bodied, stronger-skating option for his role.
I think a couple of teams will be in on Bergenheim and we probably won't match their offers. I personally would love to see him back in a Lightning jersey in 2011/12+ though.

And I agree with your take on Hall.

Agree in regards to Ehrhroff- his strong play at both ends and beginning to come into his prime years, 5M+ is a good figure and deservedly so. No way does Van lose Ehrhroff but maybe Bieska could slip through. We definitely need some upgrades along the blue line.

I could see Ehrorff out of Vancouver, just not sure if Yzerman would want to pay him all he wants

My #1 dream UFA would be Markov, too bad he'll be resigned by Montreal.

It will be interesting to see how Yzerman handles the goaltending situation first and foremost. Will he give one of the kids the chance to win the backup job? Has Mike Smith earned it? What is going to happen with Roloson?

One of the things that has constantly come up with this team all year long is the need for more speed on defense. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that is one of the priorities on Steve Yzerman's list this summer.

We need speed on the defense no doubt. We're a bit tied up with Ohlund's contract and Kubina's NTC though.

Then again, I didn't ever think we'd get rid of Walker's contract either. In SFY We Trust!

Honestly I dont think Kubina would be bad as a bottom pairing defensemen. Let him hid at the #6 spot and I think our defense can still be good. Ohlund however I'm worried about.

IMO Ohlund is way better than Kubina. Send #13 to Philadelphia in the offseason.

Ohlund has been pretty reliable in the playoffs so far. He's our only plus-player (plus-1), 3rd in total TOI/G and 2nd in SH TOI/G among defensemen.

in play-offs Ohlund has been much better, still is slow as ****.

I didn't realize Pitkanen was an UFA. For some reason I thought he was RFA. But I don't think he'll be much cheaper than Ehrhoff. His last cap hit was $4 million.

Grant Clitsome and Anton Babchuk are both UFAs that I'm very interested in. And then of course, there's Scott Hannan.

I'd like to get some Clitsome.

If we get the Anton, might as well just hand us the Cup now.

Idea on how to keep Eric Brewer: Institute a team policy of "blood in, blood out".

Maybe the team can adopt some hand signs that let people immediately know their allegiance?

According to this Swedish report, the Lightning have shown some interest in 28-year old goalie Viktor Fasth.

Quote:
Viktor Fasth had a completely sensational development in AIK this season. 28-year-old - who as recently as four years ago played in Division 1 - grew out of the elite series and attend the best goalkeeper and made sure that AIK crashed through to the semifinals.

In the evening World Cup debut when he Tre Kronor takes on Austria.

- I could barely dream about the upcoming season. But it's incredibly fun to be with, "said Fasth.

The deal for the World Cup was that Fasth and Erik Ersberg would get a match was.

Anyone who has done best-performers played since the last group stage match against the USA.

After Ersbergs flat game against Norway, Fasth every opportunity to play for the first spade in the evening.
"They're very hungry"

World Cup is an excellent window displays and representatives from NHL clubs are in place for the tournament. According to sources Sportbladet is Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers in two of the five clubs that have shown interest Fasth.

- They are really hungry, but there is no concrete proposal to take a position yet, "says Sportbladets source.

- I would not say which clubs concerned, but there is interest.

Will the legal interest is Viktor interested. But it must be the right money, envägskontrakt and some other factors which should be, "said Fasth agent Pär Larsson.

The Lightning have both first goalie Dwayne Roloson, 41, and the other goalie Mike Smith, 29, based on contracts.

Rangers states like Fasth as backup to Henrik Lundqvist, but the club has already Martin Biron during the contract, which means that Fasth, if so, would take up the Farm Team Hartford.
May breach the contract

Fasth wrote in February on a new two-year contract with AIK, a contract he has the right to break if there is an offer from the NHL.

- The NHL is the world's best league and a boyhood dream. I know there is interest. But the interest that there should be something on paper, it is quite far, "said Fasth.

- I have the ability to knit, but I would not consider it until I have a concrete bid.

Gagne has been good in the playoffs but sadly is too injury prone to re-sign

Could make him a cheaper option. Plus I think he likes it here. Agree about the injuries though.

I think he likes it here(Gagne) - probably because his options are limited and the health questions are at the forefront. I agree that a cheaper version of a Gagne would be nice considering the skill set, but Bergy,Purcell,Lundin and Brewer should be resigned first. Besides Stammer hits the wage increase as well.
Is Babchuk still a problem child, don't hear much with him being out west?

Send a message via ICQ to Kusic
Yzerman does not much like changes. Therefore, I think that SFY will not sign many free agents and only extend the contracts with the existing ones. According to me, Steve will re-sign these players: Stamkos, Purcell, Bergenheim, maybe Hall and Gagne, Brewer and Lundin. Steve may try to sign a free goalie (Bryzgalov, Vokoun). But I hope that our new number one goalie will Desjardins
