If this was the WC, I didn't think you could fight under IIHF rules?
It was the Euro Hockey Tour. And it wasn't offically a fight, I think Koivu didn't get a penalty at all, but they were fighting. Artyukin was jumping everyone, 3rd man in etc. I was wondering why there were no fighting majors, maybe it really is completely against the rules.
Poor Mikko, he took a bit of a beating... eh, He'll be ok...
So Evgeny Artyukhin decided to let the fists fly on our very own Mikko Koivu in a Finland vs Russia International game.. He definitely took some punches, especially while laying on the ground but he did get up & skate away so I think it's safe to say he escaped without any (major) injuries..
I would explain more but the article already handled it..
alright, I swear I embedded the youtube video right, & yes I went FAQ to double check but Im having no luck.. If someone else wants to take a crack at it the link is:
Fixed it for you. All you need is everything after the "v=".
We've already had it mentioned in the General thread but, meh, this can stand on it's own.
Thanks Prov. Me & the internet don't get along. The funny thing is, I swear I only had the "V=" part. I even double checked. I guess I double checked wrong... haha oh well. Thanks again!
EDIT - I clicked on the edit button & I see what you meant, I left the stupid "V=" in front still. I knew better than that. I really just didnt put 2 & 2 together..
in my defense I've spent the last 7 days traversing the country going to multiple play-off games, lots of drinking, not much sleep & way too much money spent.. I'm so exhausted I probabaly couldnt even spell my own name correctly right now... haha
I didn't like the way he grabbed Salmela as a 3rd man in, but I think Artyukhin did his job there. Of course it's not nice to see Mikko get beaten like that but Artyukhin was sending a message. If that hit was the other way around I would have loved if a Finn went berserk like that. Not that we have anybody who would, or could.
