Coming out flat today should result in a total housecleaning but lapses are lapses. It'll be no different than if they're flat 5 minutes into the 2nd or 11 minutes into the third after dominating for a full period. They have to play 3 periods of good hard, disciplined hockey and execute on the power play and they'll beat this team. Do it two games in a row and they're on to round 2. No Pominville is a good thing today.
That's where I think you are wrong. This team has shown us at time this season that they don't give it the full 60 minutes. If they come out flat and Sabres control the pace of the game, I don't see them being able to turn it around. I think that they will come out firing though so this won't be an issue.
Thanks!...I'm too much of a chickensh*t to wear a jersey but it should be a good time!...the crowd has looked pretty insane inside AND outside the rink!
You should wear your stuff, I wouldn't really worry about it. Nobody is going to do anything stupid to you, just some good natured verbal abuse. Then again, I wore my Sabres stuff in Philly for game 5 so I was willing to embrace the worse (although it wasn't as bad as I expected so I thank you all that were there for that).
By my count, the Flyers are 2-4 in this history when trying to save their season in Game 6 on the road. They beat the Blues in '68 and Flames in '81. Problems are: both are not Eastern Conference Teams, the Flyers then lost both Game 7's at home, and they're 0 for their last 4. So...here's to changing trends again.
