Another Ducks fan here. Well played, the better and hungrier team won this one. Congrats on winning your first playoff series in franchise history. It's only going to get harder so, good luck in the 2nd round.
im so happy im a Preds fan and not a fan of any other team. this is an original franchise here in TN that most of us here have watched since day 1. Just an amazing feeling to finally take it to the next step.
I dont remember when i was this happy. THANK YOU AND GO PREDS!
So many of us felt Rinne would be a beast in the series if we won, but he played only decent, but with some very big saves. I'm happy that the "Predator way" came through with consistent scoring. Trotz and Poile have said that will be how we win in Nashville, with tough play with everyone chipping in. The team they built came through.
Very happy for all the guys. Maybe particularly for long timers like Legwand, Tootoo. I saw most of the home games live the first few years including the inaugural and I remember Leggy coming up for that game at the end of the year. Congrats David! Congrats Tootoo! Happy for Shea Weber leading the team and winning a playoff round his very first season as the captain.
I do feel like everyone is beatable in the West right now. I would pick Vancouver of anyone right now. They seem shaky, and we have gotten in their heads earlier this season.
I wouldn't mind Detroit, especially if Zetterberg is out. Questionable goaltending and it seems their core (outside Datysuk) is slowing down.
My least desired would be SJ. They just control the play against us too easily.
We cant play SJ no matter how it turns out my pref is
but hey im happy to be having this convo as it means we are past the frist round... and where are all the 'fans' that said we would never get out of the first round with this management/ coaching
WHOOOOOOOO!!!!! FINALLLYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a great day to be a Nashville fan!!!...buuuttt...me and the longtime girlfriend where having the breakup talk at the same time..so it kinda balances things out I guess lol
So unbelievable. You know playoff fever is spreading when...
- You walk down Broadway in your Preds gear and receive shouts of "WOOOOO!" and high fives from random strangers
- 2 dudes walk into The Stage with an inflatable Stanley Cup and the ENTIRE place goes NUTS
...this city is exploding. I couldn't be more proud of this team. If I saw Toots right now, I'd probably injure him with the force of my flying tackling hug...forget the assists (which were sweet!), his forecheck in the 3rd was absolutely FEROCIOUS. There was one shift with a minute or two left where he was EVERYWHERE. Incredible.
Hats off to Emery, who has balls of steel to play in this series with a hip injury that obviously affected him a lot. And hats off to Selanne, who is a freak of nature and commands my respect...if he wants to play for a Cup contender next year, I wouldn't mind signing him.
The rest of the Ducks can suck it.
And obviously hats off to the Preds, who captured my heart 13 years ago when I was 12 years old and are now capturing the heart of the entire city. It's amazing to watch. Special, special props to all the rest of you who have been here since Day 1 or close to it...we've been through so much with this team...how f-ing sweet is this?!

This was the most stunning thing to me. Not just Tootoo but the entire team played aggressive in the third. Historically, Anaheim would have outshot us 15-3, and the Preds would have required Rinne to be perfect to win.
But despite Anaheim being on the verge of elimination, the Preds carried a lot of the 3rd period play and their big guys of Selanne, Ryan, Perry, and Getzlaf combined for only 3 total ES SOG in the 3rd. Tootoo had 3 total ES SOG in the 3rd himself.
