Gorges will be faster next year!

http://www.cyberpresse.ca/sports/hoc...8_section_POS3

Great news!

He had developed bad habits (training and skating) for past 7 years because he was missing a ligament. He's learning all over again he says.

Quite the story!

See you next year Gorges, we miss you.

Severe concussions and missing ligaments aside, that really is an amazing trade for the Habs.

How can you be missing a ligament for 7 years and not do anything about it? Any medical professionals please fill me in with this info.

I think it was just a minor tear that may have caused only a little instability.

Glad to hear some good news. Look forward to having him back. I hope the Habs can get some RH dmen next season and move Gorges back to his natural left side. I'd like to see him manning the 3rd pairing and the 1st PK unit.

Why not have this surgery a few years ago in an off season?

I think that is a good contract. I've been thinking 3 years 7mil or 4 years 9mil.

Markov is the ligament fairy, he creeps into your bed at night and steals bits of your knee to put in his.

Markov and Gorges are good players. I wish they were here fighting in this series for us. I am wondering though how the org views them going forward? Will it be short term deals for both due to injury or gamble and go long term?

I'd say he'll have at least 2,5M per..10M/4years.
As for Markov, i'd give him 15M/3years.

I think this can explain why he fell/lost balance sometimes seemingly for no reason while skating backwards. Imagine if he somehow manages to use the new found agility to bring out a little of that offensive numbers he showed in junior.

This should be interesting, Gorges has essentially never played at the pro level with two good knees, next season he could make a serious leap forward. Probably will be harder to knock down from now, something that made one cringe at times when it happened and wonder if he'd get back up.
