I thought he was injured before and then came back. There was talk about him getting an invite before he got injured and then when he came back he picked right back up where he left off. I think he got an invite at least.....

I guess so. Truly disappointing. Even when buying into a defensive system, Ovechkin still went at a point per game pace but I guess that's not a fair comparison because his previous normal pace was 100+. Why did Gaborik always look so freaking slow out there? I don't think part of the system was to skate like Darren Pang. His shots were looking rather weak as well. he still had a quick release but the speed and power were rather pedestrian with the majority of them end up in the goalie's chest.

I hope he goes back to play "his" own game and remember what the hell it's like to score and dominate. I don't think we really need Gaborik finishing all his checks like he has been doing this season. We need him finishing his scoring chances.

I'm not saying he's not a superstar. I'm saying just because he is one doesnt mean he should be expected to carry a team when he doesnt have much to work with. He was fantastic last year on a weaker team. This year he had a bad year. It happens. But I cant possibly get on the guy when he doesnt have much to work with. I'm sure you watched the majority of there games this year; how many guys were able to skate the puck through the neutral zone and then into the offensive zone while still maining puck control? Then think about how many times we watched a forward dump it into a corner and chase it. They didnt have the talent of a skilled forward who can carry the puck into the zone and set up a play.

...and we know Gabby can't carry it for sure because he makes the same play every time along the boards...and then coughs up the puck because he won't cut to the middle anymore...although he did try that once in the 2nd last game...

I hope he scores 10 goals at the WC's because it will make him more tradeable .
I believe Ovie told Anisimov that he should get on the weights this Summer or he will hurt him next season in the handshake conversation .

I'm not ready to give up on gaborik. He has a lot to offer. I'd like to see what he can do with Richards before I call it quits on him.

Rumor has it that Michael Vick had established a midget fighting ring complete with illegal betting.

Zuccs did well for the first couple of rounds, then he had to face Martin St. Louis and that's when all hell broke loose. From the back sprung Steven Stamkos riding in on the back of Gary Roberts while MSL hid under the ring.

Poor Zuccs never stood a chance

I dont really agree with this but whatever. How long is this tourney? He'll have enough time to bulk up over the rest if the off-season.

I think I rather have Sweden win gold and USA win silver. I could care less about the WC so I don't really care if USA wins, but I rather have Lundqvist feeling happy with a gold.

I don't understand it either - strength training is just an excuse. Competing at the highest level is what young players like Anisimov should get at every opportunity

Laugh? For Dustin Brown? The guy who had a stretch this season where he scored 1 goal in 16 games?

Hes their captain and their Ryan Callahan, only a little bigger and more skilled.

He is signed to a bargain contract for a long time.

As an example... if we locked up Ryan Callahan for 4 years @ 3 mil per, and named him our captain, would you trade him for Ilya Kovalchuk?

Honestly Step and McD shouldn't go simply for the fact they just played their first season over 40 or whatever college games, and are probably tired as hell.

Let them rest a bit and then get them working on strength, endurance, or whatever else.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Rangers organization wants Stepan and McDonagh at the WC to spend valuable time with Kreider. And talk to him about going Pro.

Its huge that these guys get to play together and spend time together.
