If it isn't obvious what I think of the black uniforms by now...

Well, I agree.

What an exciting series this was, and what a bitter pill to swallow for you folks as well as us Monarch fans who enjoy seeing some of the boys down in Manchester play for LA in later years. Quick has always been a favorite of mine when he played for the Monarchs- I've been rooting for him since he came up to LA to play. What a joy to see him play in the playoffs, and stopping 72 shots without a goal past him is just amazing. You guys and gals definitely have a keeper there, probably a potential Vezina winner in the near future!

I'll always wonder if LA could have taken this series with a healthy Kopitar playing. Still, even without him, your team played amazing against the Sharks. Some defensive issues need to be worked on next year, but otherwise, they played with heart and passion. It's too bad that they couldn't score on that 5 minute PP- oh so close to taking SJ to a game 7. I have a feeling that within a couple of years, these guys are going to be contenders and give the Sharks a run for their money for first place.

Well done, LA, and looking forward to seeing you in next year's playoffs. So proud of all the Monarch guys, and well, the guys acquired through trades and such, too.

I noticed on these boards everybody blaming Doughty, TM, Kompon, PP, etc... Well the Kings scored 3 goals that should have been enough to win. People do you realize the Kings had 2 power play goals and the Sharks zero. Why all the blame on the PP? And why is the SOS line getting a pass. They started getting press and maybe thought they were better than they really are. The Clifford/Richardson/Simmonds line was AWFUL!!!!! Richardson played as bad a game as I have seen in a long time and the reason he doesn't get consistent playing time.

Ahh, lighten up on the old man. Recognize that many things are said publicly in order to take the pressure off of your team (important when your team is young like the Kings). Many are inflammatory. Then once the series is over it's all in the past.

Regards to the handshake - sure, would have been nice for him to shake with the players, but not a requirement. It's not like the buzzer sounded and he stomped off to the locker room in a huff. If it's common knowledge in the NHL that not all coaches run the handshake gauntlet, there's no reason for SJS players to call him out via twitter.

Lots of the people doing TV analysis were all over the Sharks... 3 of the Sharks wins came in OT and the Kings shut them out at the HP Pavilion: analyze that.

I love the Kings, and had great fun again during this season.

Take care all. Really looking forward to Berlin.

GO KINGS GO!!!!

Could sortof see this coming......you guys want Hemsky and the 31st this summer for Braydon Schenn now? Hemsky is what Lombardi really wanted, now you can have him.

You guys would really rock with both Penner and Hemsky eh?

I think game 6 was really the only time in the series when we saw both teams at or near their best, and the Sharks were simply better. Their offense was just too much for the Kings' defense. I'm sad about the loss, but I at least feel that the Kings lost honestly last night.

It's still an unresolved issue for me why the series was such a shootout (ah, if only...). At the moment I can think of a two-pronged explanation:
First, the Sharks' offense was ultimately too much for the Kings' defense, in part because their ability to attack consistently with three lines exposed the Kings' 3rd defensive pairing. Greene had a really tough series but I don't think he's fundamentally a terrible player. He and Martinez are bottom-pairing guys at this point, and SJ had the offensive depth to go after them.
Second, the Sharks' defense is not very good. They made a lot of mistakes this series, and they should be very concerned that they gave up so many goals to a team that has struggled offensively all year AND was missing its best player. Their penalty kill and goaltending were downright BAD, and they were very prone to turnovers.

I don't really understand why Williams wasnt used on the top unit in place of 1 of Zeus or Smyth. Zeus couldnt win any offensive zone faceoffs on the pp anyway
we do have a PP quaterback in manchester if he can just make the team

Good series guys. No doubt with some moves in the off season your team could be a cup contender. I'm thrilled my team won, but i'm not over confident in our defense. We'll see how they pull it out.

Again, great series! Go Hockey! Go California!

When your third line is your best line it makes it almost impossible to win. The fact that the Kings took this to six games including three in overtime is miraculous IMO. They still lack speed and skill.

Hopefully Richie and Lewis get more ice time next year.

It's almost a relief that it's over...when does a pair of nines beat four aces?

I thought this young team showed a lot of character and heart. Someone else said it, but this was an amazing experience for the young guys which can be carried over in years to come as they become leaders.

ALso want to mention not only did Quick play well, but he has already become an amazing leader of this team. Always modest, never blames his team mates even if they play like absolute s*** in front of him. So glad we have him. Sorry but JB is going to have to be patient another year (and we'll have to endure more JB fan posts lol).

Some thoughts going into next season:

Coaching: If we're going to keep TM, then at least we need a PP guru to come in for Kompon. He had his shot. It's not working. He needs to go. No more chances. Also if there is a spectrum Defense ------- Offense, TM needs to bring it a little bit more towards offense. I am afraid he is going to hold back guys with speed coming in like Schenn, Lokti.

Thanks but good luck in your future endeavors:

Zeus - amazing for us defensively and as a leader, but no more room for you. thank you for your service
Greene - Dude wtf was that? You were usually solid, but both the Kings and you need a change of scenery
Stoll - thanks for all the faceoff wins, but see ya. Hello Schenn.
Poni - I was/am a huge supporter, but you need to take a severe pay cut which you won't so good luck elsewhere. I'm sure another team can really use your hustle/heart.

Kompon - No seriously, GTFO

Already can't wait for next year!

So, I was growing a playoff beard for the Kings run. Last night, during the 3rd intermission, my wife tells me "hey, I found the razors you left at my mom's house" and puts them on my desk...

I told her "That's great, but I'm not going to be needing them."

"Well, I'll leave them here, just in case..."

She apologized later.

I really hate these Sharks fans who come in here and play nice nice. "Oh your teams really going to be good blah blah blah..." Go away you beat us fair and square(Sharks were the better team) so enjoy the victory and let us grieve on our own.

Having 12 hours to sleep on it helps. It still is tough knowing how many chances we had to win the series and certainly to take it to 7 games. That 5 minute major... oy, but the better team won and props to the Kings for making it a challenge for SJ to win the series.

Enough grieving for me... I'm very excited about next year's lineup. You need a legit #1 and #2 center to do some playoff damage and we'll have a solid #1-#4 center group. We have an excellent stock of defenseman and a fabulous goaltending tandem.

Get Doughty and Penner some proper off-season conditioning and they'll be good to go.

Stoll needs to spend all of training camp teaching every center we have how to win draws. He's a master at face-offs and won't be around forever.

Most of the off-season "moves" will be guys coming up from the farm, which is fine with me. That's how the Kings are going to remain competitive within a cap environment. If the guys from Manchester slot in the lineup and Dean can add one FA winger, they'll be in excellent, excellent shape to make a run next season... and the season after that... and after that...

It's a great time to be a Kings fan.

I blame myself for us losing the series. I cleaned-up/shaved part of my playoff beard before game 3.

WHAT!?! Coming off that 4-0 beat down we handed SJ!?! I blame you too! (At least for game 3)

If a fan chooses to do the playoff beard for the playoffs, you DO NOT TOUCH IT until your team is eliminated.

I got the same thing a couple of winters ago working with THE Salvation Army at my kettle location... At least there were no insults changing hands...unless you happened to have been a Ducks fan walking by... It's always nice to see two rival teams with one common enemy...

Attended all three games at Staples.

Great, loud, intense fans. Thank you in Section 315 for being cool with my son and I. We adhered to a 10 second rule (Sharks score...stand-up clap for ten seconds, sit down, shut up).

When Thornton scored the winner, we enjoyed the moment, and for a few seconds got carried away. Then the guy sitting across the aisle (Kings fan) pats me on the back and says, "good luck next round!"

The coolest thing the Kings do is to honor a service man/woman each game. What an honor to be recognized by your hometown! Hope that tradition never goes away.

... I don't like it, either. It's starting to reek of condescension and "hey maybe when your team grows up they'll be as good as our team lol". Enough already. Congrats on winning, Sharks fans, and respect - but I get it.

Yup. It's a shame that some of these Kings fans are saying the Sharks were the better team. WTF, MAN UP BOYS, we could've taken these guys. We lost 3 of the games in overtime. Game 1 Richardson could've popped in the game winner. Game 3, well everyone knows what happened in Game 3, being up 4-0 and losing in a playoff game at home is inexcusable. And yesterday we lost in OT but that 5 mins PP at the end was really the game. If Kopitar was playing last night and in this series, we could've easily handled these guys. We were the better team except for Game 4, they were clearly the better team but we were all around better than them. All you Kings fans that keep saying the Sharks were better than us, bow your head in shame
