Defence pretty much stands pat.

Line 1 - Call me crazy, you can expect Bolland on the ice with the Sedins, Oreskovich's assignment is simple, create space for the Sedins - eliminate Bolland from the equation in whatever way you have to, be smart and dont take penalties to do so.

Line 2 - Easily the best line last game. It looked crazy good, stick with what works

Line 3 - Energy line. Send them out when we need some momentum or to draw penalties.

Line 4 - You don't have to play them often, play them when the first two lines are absolutely gassed. They'll see most of there time in the start of the game if things are looking good out there. They can generate opportunities as well.

This is the most balanced and crazy line combo I could logically explain.
This is probably what AV should go with. Oreo's single purpose would be to eliminate that rat, and I could even see that 4th line have some scoring chances if Samuelsson could regain a portion of the LA series.

sedin - sedin - burrows
higgins - kesler - samuelsson
hansen - hodgson - raymond
oreskovich - lapierre - glass

edler - ehrhoff
hamhuis - bieksa
ballard - salo/alberts (depending on injury status)

luongo

it's not rocket science...you go back to the lineup that won games 1-2 on home ice and rely on the studs that, for better or worse, brought the canucks to this point

getting cute, like putting schneider in net, putting oreskovich on the first line, demoting samuelsson...game 7 is not the time for experiments, it's the time for putting your best players in positions to succeed and finding out whether they have what it takes

this means you bench torres and get rid of that distraction, you keep burrows with the sedins, you put glass back into the lineup, you put raymond and hansen with hodgson, and you start luongo

Mmkay I love that lineup. Really messes up Chicago's matchups and Oreo has played well with the Sedins as he's strong along the boards and a force in front of the net. He would also make Bolland less fearless with the puck.

Kesler needs to be setup for his shot which the sedins can do. stack the 1st line for some early goals. Raymond not a center but the whole line can defend and he's not too bad at face offs. We need to roll the lines, hard forecheck and d stepping up. That's our strength don't try to play Chicago's game. Would switch it up if not working, Hansen with the Sedins and Kesler back to 2nd line center with Burrows and Raymond. Hansen been one of our better player 1st 3 games and he's got the speed to backcheck during counter attacks. Also Edler on 1st pp replacing Samuelsson. Lets do this boys, stop playing like you're scared and win this thing.

Sedin - Sedin - Kesler
Burrows - Raymond - Hansen
Higgins - Hodgson - Samuelsson
Torres - Lapierre - Oreskovich

Edler - Ehrhoff
Hamhuis - Bieksa
Ballard - Alberts

Schneider
Luongo

I like this, but I don't think it will happen. It is too late to change it up that much.

I'd suggest:

Sedin Sedin Sammy
Hansen Kesler Burrows
Raymond Hodgson Higgins
Torres Lapierre Oreskovich

Same D

Luongo gets the start. Sammy played great last game, his stickhandling bought the Sedins valuable time in the offensive zone. He looked hungry and unfazed by the Hawks. Kes' line for shutdown, and all 3 guys can roll with the bounces. Hodgson will have to play better if he wants ice time, but the third could pose a threat. I'd maybe bump up Lapierre to the third for a few shifts if the going gets tough.

If Salo is alright I think they should run 7 d-men due to the crazy minutes everyone played on Sunday. I would take out Torres since he's been a target by the refs and is probably a source of motivation for some Hawk players.

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Samuelsson
Raymond - Kesler - Burrows
Higgins - Lapierre - Hansen
- Hodgson - Oreskovich

Edler - Ehrhoff
Hamhuis - Bieksa
Salo - Ballard
Alberts

Luongo
Schneider

If Salo's out use Alberts as the 6th d-man and just add Glass on the 4th line and keep Rome out of the game.

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Samuelsson
Raymond - Kesler - Burrows
Higgins - Hodgson - Hansen
Glass - Lapierre - Oreskovich

Edler - Ehrhoff
Hamhuis - Bieksa
Alberts - Ballard

Luongo
Schneider

You need Kesler on against Toews and Kane. Those guys would run wild if they're not mostly playing against Kes.

Seriously, if the Canucks are planning to capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, Samuelsson needs to get the **** off the first powerplay unit.

Haha. With a wooden sword.

Anyways, If I'm AV, I make sure the escape routes at Rogers Arena are secure - and I make a quick exit before the 3rd ends.

Both of these. Kesler/Burrows line was fantastic in Game 6.

I'd consider trying a few shifts with Higgins joining the Sedins to add some speed/forecheck. Worst case you shift him for Samuellson after a period. Samuellson still isn't 100% and looked at his best on the 3rd line. Same deal with Hansen and Tambellini.

Torres isn't worth the penalties he's taking.

Sedin-Sedin-Higgins
Tambellini-Kesler-Burrows
Hansen-Raymond-Samuelsson
Glass-Lapierre-Oreskovich

Trade Glass with Tambo and I'd be all over it.

i like the idea of getting Hodgson out there with the Sedins, but i wouldn't want to roll with that for a whole game. a few shifts here and there for offensive zone faceoffs would be ideal i think.
