I just have a feeling if we were to get the Nucks that Kesler would breakout against us.

It is what it is I guess. Most didn't want the Ducks and that turned out alright.

I'm just glad it's not SJ-- I don't like how we match up against them at all.

Whoever it is, it's going to be a lot harder to score goals. Nucks/Wings defenese >>> Ducks defense. Goalies as well, though Luongo has been weak vs Chicago. Howard still has some to prove.

Supposedly Zetterberg is ready to go. Hopefully he and Frazen aren't at 100%.

Glad Erat looks ready. Keep in JP!

I have the same feeling. He just looks like he's built for playoff hockey but has yet to make an appearance. If the Sedins truly find it difficult to play a more physical game, I think that would play into our hands with the preds' style of play. Also without Malhotra they lose a key faceoff guy. Their defense is also nothing to talk about. I do however believe Luongo will turn it around and dominate once again if they get through.

With all that, I still feel more comfortable with Vancouver than Chicago especially after last year. They just seemed to have our number and if they do the impossible and beat Vancouver, they'll have all sorts of confidence.

I think the Canucks have one of the deepest defenses in the league. Edler, Erhoff, Bieska, Salo, Ballard, Hahmhuis-- way deep.

As many know I'm not the biggest Hamhuis fan but he is better Klein.

Suter and Weber have an advantage over their top pair, but their 3-6 guys are way better than us.

If we do play the Nucks, I hope SOB plays possessed but not dumb. It's his chance at redemption. Not only for the Nucks dealing him, but also all those penalties he took last round.

We can't draw Chicago, unless you are meaning the WC Finals.

If we make it to the WC Finals, I honestly don't really care who it is

During the regular season they defiantly have one of, if not the best, defenses in the league. I just haven't seen the transition of their regular season success into playoff success as of yet. Ill agree that if they get it together, they're still the team to beat though.

I agree there D is deep but it hasn't performed as good as it looks on paper.

Ballard has been terrible and has been a scratch and he's behind Rome and Alberts on the depth chart. Salo is almost always injured and left Sunday's game with an injury. We saw what happens when good D-men play with serious injuries last series with Beauchimen(SP?).

Either team is tough but I would almost rather play Van than Detroit. Detroit just has that experience pedigree that can only be learned by going through the battles. Vancouver is a deep team all around but there top skill guys the Sedins don't like physical D and frankly their psyche is fragile I think. I want them.

Ballard has been pretty brutal in the second half and Salo may now be injured. Luongo also have a history of playoff struggles, continuing on into this season.

I'm already putting in a request for Perry-esque mind games with Burrows if we play them.

Funny to think they traded a 1st round pick + Grabner for him and some European, AND they're paying Ballard for 4M.

Victor Oreskovich is actually Canadian

Here's to hoping for a Canucks/Preds WCSF! Hamhuis vs. O'Brien would be entertaining.

I hope so, I think all the real hockey fans knew at the end of the regular season that the Nashville/Anaheim series was going to be the best series to watch in the west, and I think with the exception of what the Chicago/Vancouver series has turned into it was the most entertaining to watch.

I was pissed that Versus only ended up showing 1 game, had to watch them all online on grainy live streams. I agree they get no love from any of the media it seems. The only thing that was really talked about at any length in that series was the breakaway goal from Ryan, up until that point the only thing they would show/talk about was that dumb shot of Carrie Underwood while Fischer was fighting.

I don't think NBC will cover a Nashville/Vancouver series but they would probably do San Jose and def. would be on there against Detroit. But atleast with only 4 games to cover now I should get to watch them all on versus for the 2nd round.

Even though I dread dealing with the PredWing fans, its better for the NHL and the Preds if the Hawks win tonight:
  • Chicago is huge american market for better TV ratings
  • Exits the most talented team (the Nucks)
  • Gives us a chance to host the Conference finals
  • Beating the Wings in the playoffs is our destiny.

The last point is fate. Its little brother finally growing up and beating big brother. Its a message that the Central Division will have a new sheriff in town going forward. And its the biggest stage for us from a audience perspective.

Can we just ban red jerseys in the arena?

Amazing. Hawks tie it up shorthanded in last minute.

If we thought our game 5 SH goal was bad...
