So there we go. Lots of work to do. If we can get past these guys, it will bode well for round 3.

Round II: Preds v. Canucks

It's official. Nashville get the President's Trophy winners.

Do the Central pround and knock 'em out. I'm pulling for Nashville to represent the West, and think you guys have a real shot of advancing.

Go Preds.

What an amazing game! I got to admit Vancouver played great. If they play like that during our series we are going to have to play unreal to beat them. It's gonna be tough. But no one said it was going to be easy.

Luongo looked to gain his form back in that game sadly.

He looks like a nervous freak with all his weird tics in the net. Seems like the kind of dude the gnomes might be able to terrorize...or something similar. Maybe pictures of Kane? Ha! We gotta get in that weirdo's head...

Great game. Luongo looked OK, but not great. His team played very well defensively in front of him. The 'Hawks couldn't get good shooting lanes, let alone physically close to the crease. Luongo didn't have to make that many big saves. Congrats to the 'Nucks, nonetheless.

Bring 'em on. They're going down!

This.

And the same with Luongo, now that he can breath and has that burden off his back (chicago) i wont be surprised see him playing his top game next series

The one thing to think of tonight the Nucks physically dominated the Hawks along the boards and and in front of the net. Hawks are a skill team and were reluctant to dump it deep and grind out battles along the wall. Don't expect that from the Preds. This series is going to be a man's series.

I think pictures of the giant troll Byfuglien, in a hawks uni, would scare Luongo more

Klein vs Kesler

Bottom line is we aren't going to be able to score 4 goals a game like we did vs. the Ducks. So, Rinne, get your **** together!

Hopefully Erat comes in at 100%-- we need his offense generating ability for that line. Sully and JP-- keep scoring when it counts. Tootoo/Spaling/Smithson- keep playing with confidence. Fisher keep doing your thing. I think Kosisyten has another gear.

And for God's sake, get a clue on the PK this time around! Vancouver had the best PP in the season, but we had the 5th best PK. They shouldn't score at a 37% clip!

I seriously think a lot of people are underrating the Preds on the main board.

That said, Preds in 7. Good luck guys.

biggest thing going for us in this series is we are under ZERO pressure

having a discussion with a canucks fan on their bord. he thinks the canucks have got the monkey off their back and will be loose and relaxed from here on.

my counter to that is they are such prohibitive favorites that if we can scratch out one win in the first two at Vancouver the pressure on them will ratchet up dramatically... I can just hear the cries of "OMG we finally beat the hawks but now we are gonna lose to THESE GUYS?? YGBSM?!?!?!ZOMG"

No doubt we won't be scoring 4 goals a game this series. PK and Rinne have to be better. I expect most the games to be low scoring and tight. If Van starts scoring 4 or more goals a game we'll probably go out pretty early.

I do think our D will do better this series. Vancouver has good talent at forward but they aren't physically dominant like RPG and of course they don't have Selanne.

The difference is at forward though is that Van has a lot of depth. After the obvious players such as the Sedins and Kesler they have Burrows,Samuelson, Raymond,Hansen,Higgins. Impressive depth
