one of your own fans suggested Foligno + Ott 1st for Jeff Carter.

I don't think this retort really drives home the point.

Look at it this way;

Would you trade Karlsson alone for Colborne, Bozak and Brian Lee? ... I sure as hell wouldn't.

That would be something. Alfie playing in Toronto. Then he would go from being the worst captain ever to the toast of the town.

Bah that seems like a lot to pay for a playoff non-performer + a guy who seems to be injured at rather inopportune times (I realize no fault of his own). On the other hand...him and Spezza together makes me feel warm and fuzzy...and really, we're not looking at the playoffs for a year or two minimum...but he's signed for 10 more years...

I dunno, if that deal was on the table, I'm sure the Sens would do it, but it's nerve-racking IMO.

Not without an extension in place, too much of a risk to pay that kind of price for a guy who has one year left for a rebuilding team - even if we could trade him at the deadline, I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in (hypothetically) insisting on an extension.

Otherwise, yes, he'd be a nice piece.

I had considered that, but this isn't too much.

Kuba's a dump, Edm won't take him on in real life to make this deal happen.
Neil has some value, possibly enough to off-set Kuba's inclusion.
Neither are integral pieces of a rebuild/retool/whatever.

Nashville 1st for Hemsky? ... Done.

I agree, but these are all pieces that have to be weighed if you're moving them in a rebuild. Neil has value, not sure how much, but I'd imagine a heart and soul agitator who can drop 'em has 3rd round pick written on him, if not 2nd round pick. Kuba likely isn't viewed the way Sens' fans view him around the league, for example, I think we could get an expiring forward contract for him without too much trouble.

Several takers on the Huselius for Kuba deal. Any way to expand that to include Foligno?

For Kuba I would try and acquire a more defensively responsible, overpaid forward if possible. Huselius is a creative playmaker but I just cringe at the thought of him being on the ice at the time as Rundblad, Karlsson or Cowen while working on their Defense at the NHL level.

I cringe more at the thought that those three might actually watch Kuba and learn how to suck

Like in the NHL draft.

Meh - not funny.

Your question might be the crux, though. I'd go third.

Raymond. Name your price and we may consider. Either that or Hansen, who I feel is more valuable overall.

Ha - I feel bad not eliciting at least a small laugh there.

So, Kuba + Foligno for Huselius + 3rd + rights to Upshall...not bad IMO. I hate to give up on Foligno like that, but if Upshall would re-sign, I'd say there's something there for sure.
