It's a funny thing. I enjoy watching the Red Wings team, but absolutely despise the fans. I don't mind Ducks fans, but I utterly hate the team.

I wonder if a trade can be rearranged so hate can be properly concentrated.

Is Laakso replacing anyone that's currently injured?

Best of luck in the series, I think it's going to be tough scoring goals both ways 5 on 5 but Vancouver will probably going to edge out Nashville with special teams.

What I'm kind of interested about is if they're going to finally play the video tribute for Hamhuis when they play game 3...

I'd assume he's just up and travelling with the team as the #7 defenseman, in case of injury.

Ads are in the playoffs and Dexshow is not 100%, Smith is playing well so that's all they can give up.

Didn't Pickard play his juniors near Vancouver? Maybe that has something to do with it. Clearly he's not going to play.

So we don't have to rip the Ads goalies from them during their playoff run.

Now that is hilarious. For the previous 13 years of the Preds/Preds fanbase, all I've heard from Canadians is hockey doesn't belong in Tennessee. We finally get out of the first round, and our northern neighbors have "tremendous respect". Same coach, same GM, same style of play with many of the same players, and SAME FANS... what took you so long??

P.S. am I the only person that thinks it's funny that Detroit is probably in San Jose and we are probably in Vancouver, yet none of those four teams knows when they're playing even though it's SUPPOSED to start tomorrow?

I am assuming the pickard callup is because the Cyclones are done and he can get some practice with the big squad. No way he plays in a playoff game unless both goalies go down AND Dex cant get to vancouver in time for a game.

laakso is injury insurance. we would be screwed if someone on D tweaks something in warmups or the morning skate. presumbaly we didnt do it sooner to save money but since we won a round we can afford to pay the kid

A Canucks Fan Comes In Peace

Hi guys,

Glad to see you beat the Ducks, though on a personal note that screwed my pool. Shouldn't have bet against Nashville I guess. Anyway, onto this series.

I can't really make any predictions that you haven't seen time and time again, but I would like to say this: I'm so sorry, in advance, for the douches and knob goblins of the Canucks fan base. We know they are there and they are front and centre during the good times and disappear during the eliminations, the losing streaks, and the losses. The Canucks have some good respectable posters and a large amount of trolls.

So again: sorry in advance, and here's to a good series.

And SOB trashtalk.

Maybe so Wilson can see that things could be worse than being in the NHL but not getting to play.

Maybe our team can rid the boards of those bad-apple posters for a while

Thanks for the good post. I look forward to the good Canuck posters engaging us in intelligent discussion, and I feel bad for the mods, both on this board and the main board, as the potential for an all out flame-war is ever increasing. I'm going to have to keep the ignore feature in mind this series I think

I don't live in Vancouver, but I agree it's absurd, especially from a marketing POV. You'd ideally like a few days to sell the tickets to the game, and from a fan POV, you may have to change your plans/work schedule at the drop of a hat to accomodate.

Definitely bizarre, also bizarre that there would apparently be no break whatsoever between the finish of Round 1 today and the start of Round 2 tomorrow. I thought--traditionally--there was a one or two game break...

Someone said that the schedule is expected to be announced tomorrow morning -- in which case, I don't see how we could have game 1 tomorrow night. It would be no earlier than Friday, and more likely Saturday...

I think that's just a rumour still. But it does look like it will be tomorrow despite the fact that it makes very little sense for both teams.

Anyway, I hope it's a good series and the Canucks trolls (and anti-Canucks trolls too) aren't out in full-force as they sometime like to be.

Edit: Nevermind, it's confirmed... http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=561224

I don't remember hearing that hockey didn't belong in Tennesse. I've heard alot of skeptics on talk radio shows etc but never downright hockey doesn't belong there. They save those kinds of comments for Florida and Atlanta . Anyways The view from canada about the preds for years has been a hardworking team with a great coach, minimal talent, and shea weber. That said I don't mind others jumping on the bandwagon, how else are they going to learn about the team if it isn't now. All are welcome in my books.
