I'm kind of wondering how the Caps are going to deal with Braden Holtby this offseason. If I understand the rules correctly he needs to pass through waivers in order to be assigned to Hershey this fall.
Do the Caps trade him? Do they waive him when the time comes? Is anybody interested?
And what would the Caps get for him in a trade?
(Note: I haven't seen a similar thread so far but the mods can definitely move this if there's a better place for it)

There's a good rundown here. Thinking on it again it looks as though he actually may be exempt for three more years. Either way, I'd guess at this point that Varlamov is more likely to be the odd man out before it becomes a factor.
