Jarome Iginla

I know its not likely he is traded but what would it take to get Iginla on the Bruins next year? I dont know what Calgary needs so I'm not even going to try to post a proposal. Picks, prospects, fowards, defence?

You're not serious, I wouldn't even give up Tor's pick as he is getting up there in age and has a huge cap hit, no thanks.

Then no Iggy for you. He isn't being traded, the owner and feaster have both said this.

Age eh??? Have you seen this old crusty and barely moving guy Selanne?

In all honesty I am not comparing Iginla and Teemu but Selanne is 41 and Iginla is 33. I have no doubt that Iginla will put up 30+ goals when he will be 40. Especially if the Flames get Datsyuk

Tired of all this age talk when he is one of the top shape players in the league. The guy is a beast and trains very hard in the summer. Injuries are never a problem.

On hfboards, 26 is old and on the decline.

Wow...

You would not part with the 9th overall pick in a package for Jarome Iginla?

Your not serious...

Iginla's value < What Calgary would trade him for.

But for his value to other teams... I would say a very good prospect (maybe not Seguin, but not too far off), a late 1st, and a young 2nd liner on a good contract.

David Krejci + 9th overall for Iginla

Lucic - Savard - Iginla
Seguin - Bergeron - Horton

Actually, it's 23 judging by Frolik/Skille.

As a trade in an impossible world, young top 6 forward, top prospect, 1st and another piece that isn't simply a salary dump.

Even then, that just might not be enough.
Think it's not fair? Okay then don't think about trading for Iginla. Flames sure aren't thinking about trading him.

Iggy won't be traded, unless he requests it himself.

Also with all these "He's getting too old" comments...We've been hearing the same thing about Iggy for a while now, but he's still putting up 30+ goals year after year.

How do you figure? The B's have about $10m in cap space with 18 players already signed. And that's counting Savard, who's still having memory issues, so it could very easily go to $14m for 3 players.

As for Iginla, the cost (in trade) is too much. Which is fine. He's a great player. He defines the Flames. He should stay there.

For a guy (who I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) is not a flames fan this is a very honest proposal value wise. But as a Flames I have to say no. I understand every NHL fan is probably tired of hearing this. But the flames need to build around this guy, if he stays healthy he'll still be an impact player by 40. Put a decent centre in between Tangauy and Iginla and the flames would have one hell of a top line. With Jokinen's resurgence on the 2nd line the flames would have a quality top six moving forward. So tired of seeing Iginla with no talent...ugh.

But very good proposal.

That being said, there is no starter. Feaster has said Iginla is not being traded.

These are so pointless.

"I know X isn't going to be traded to my club, but what would it take?"
"He's not available at any price. You know this."
"I know, but pretend!"
"OK, A, B, C and your first rounder."
"That's robbery!"

Just... why?

Why is it so important to know how highly Calgary values Iginla, in terms of Boston assets, when they have made it clear that they are not going to trade him?

And here I thought Thornton would be the dealbreaker. Commission some MIT researchers to get on time travel already so you can trade him to us, lets make this happen.

This is the point I try to make when I respond to these threads, only I leave it to them to read between the lines rather than just saying it. They never get it.

They were looking like Bust's. Not players on the decline because they never peeked.

Tyler Seguin + 9th is about right. Iginla will still play for another 5-6 years at least because he is in such good shape.
