Jesus, this is a cluster ****

Terry, there are no financial mandates on medical training staff and the works. Should be a priority this offseason.

How about a different strength and conditioning coach?

#Sabres Pominville - cut a tendon - he already had surgery - is out 4-6 months

So, he's questionable for camp at this stage and not even 100% likely to start next year.

Sounds very similar to what Markov had, same timeline. Markov ended up only missing 2 and half months. Hopefully Jason has a similar recovery.

This is always an interesting time because you get the real scoop on injuries. I'm curious to see if there are any issues with Miller's knee.

I'd be really surprised if he isn't ready for camp.

Thought of this last night....

Anyone else think maybe Kaleta got benched for his comments to Briere and Hartnell? I saw he played 3 minutes in the overtime on Sunday so maybe Ruff teaching him to keep his mouth shut the hard way from the pressbox.

Yeah but how long did the overtime go in game 5? 3 minutes might be right on par

Apparently Ruff told someone at the Toronto sun that Pom's injury was "the worst gash he'd ever seen." http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/sa...icle404454.ece

Thought the same thing. This my issue with Kaleta's game. There is alway a risk that it will motivate the other team and/or lead to a PK.

No I don't think there is even the remotest chance he was benched.

He played 3min of an OT that last less than 5mins. Does that sound like someone that was getting their ice time cut back?

Btw you guys need to let go of your inner prude. You can't possible be serious thinking something like that is getting someone benched. The stuff thats said on the ice can be pretty brutal.

I thought he hurt the hand that was in the cast yet again. I'm sure we'll find out more as some of these guys go under the knife now that it is the off-season. Miller's lower body surgery will probably get some play.

It's not a question of his ice time being cut back in Game 6 (he was on the ice for the OT game winner by Leino). He was untouched, and didnt even appear upset.

The thought is that he played 3 minutes of what appeared to be unhurt hockey in Game 6 OT. Where was he injured then? Why has his injury not been made public? I think it's a pretty fair question.

If he crossed a line that Ruff and the rest of the players deem crossed a line (think of Avery's 2nd's comment) then it would not surprise me that Ruff would pull him to discipline him. Many of the Sabres are still friends with Briere too.

This is just pure speculation but the team is holding itself to higher standards it wouldn't surprise me.

Depends on the injury. I could see him getting a late contract for low dollars from someone taking a chance on him for a year.

I'm more surprised that DB and Co. let out to the media what was said.
From what I understand about 'the code', it's pretty taboo to talk about what's said out there.

Iím really sorry to ruin all the high hopes a lot of fans Ė and me too Ė had, but the Sabres do not allow me to participate in the world championships in Slovakia. Iíve been nursing a finger injury now for months and the doctors in Buffalo think itís better to let it rest and completely heal now instead of risking to re-injure the finger again. The injury was never so bad that I couldnít play through it, but it was a bit distressing, especially in the beginning. When I injured the finger I had to learn a new grip on the stick otherwise the pain when I shot the puck was just too great. That was also the reason why I had to decline the invitation to take part in the All-Star game back in January. When I told everybody that I would help the national team I really didnít think that the finger would be any reason not to go, because I have really gotten used to it and really didnít think too much about it. Now thereís nothing left for me but to wish Thommy Koch, Oliver Setzinger and the rest of the team all the best. I know you can do it without me!

Well, it really sucks that I cannot play. But I can understand the doctors. Because I had to play through the injury, the finger is still swollen. The doctors arenít even sure if the finger will ever be hundert percent again. At the end of the day the club has invested a lot of money in me and I still have 3 years on my contract in Buffalo. They donít want to take that risk. You really shouldn't mess around with a lacerated tendon.

Just a few words about the playoffs. Itís really frustrating. We missed a great chance in game 6 at home. Just a few minutes and we would be preparing for Washington now. But I really donít want to talk too much about it, itís just hurting too much. Letís talk about that in a week or two.

From today's press conference: He suffered a broken hand blocking a shot in that game and is scheduled for surgery.

jeezuz christ. what an injury list. we had the walking wounded a good chunk of the season. anyone have any idea how many "man hours" were lost to this team?

feels like the ECF against the 'Canes.
