Desharnais out for 4 weeks

As per RDS :

http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/318832.html

Quote:

And the beat goes on.

Go Habs Go.

I think this team just gets better and better with more adversity. So bring on the bad news and bring on the bruins.

Bonne chance P'tit Bonhomme

Not to rag on Gomez, but I didn't like that pass Gomez fed him... I thought DD was in a very vulnerable/ dangerous position to receive that pass.

Maybe I'm wrong...

Anyway, what's done is done.

Kid has a lot of fight. And he's going to be even better next year.

As a fellow DD fan, I've got a few questions for you.

1) Why was his production so awful the last 20 games? Linemates, lack of ice time, severe drop off in quality of his play?

2) DD will be an RFA. I'm not really up to speed about the compensation that a player of his salary level would require if he signed with another team. So, the question is: Is it likely that DD will be wearing another team's sweater next season?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

He will be under contract, I doubt any team will offer something. I'm sure what he will be looking for mostly is a one way contract so he can stay in the NHL for good

Gomez was hearing rumors of DDH replacing him as 2nd line center

1) Linemates, lack of ice-time, lack of PP time. Down the stretch Gomez started getting his ice-time back and Eller/DD were splitting the rest. I love Ryan White but he's not going to be a huge scorer in the NHL. Benoit Pouliot was terrible down the stretch - and that definitely hurt Desharnais overall. Desharnais didn't play as well, but thats a bit hard with the quality of TOI/linemates. I think he'll be moved to the wing next year though. He's look good with a few shifts on the wing where-as Eller has looked like garbage on the wing and amazing at centre. Unless of course we do the impossible and move Gomez.

2) In my mind? No chance whatsoever. I think Montreal would match anything up to $1.5M and no team will offer more than that since he's still pretty unproven.

Your sarcasm meter is broken. Also if you look to the far right of his post, you will see a discretely placed sarcasm smiley

Crap. I hope his rehabilitation goes well. Kid is a warrior on the ice, wouldn't want him losing a stride or two over this type on injury.

Get well, Dee-Dee-H.

It's Lejeune Vébaire, and he has a street named after him in Miami.

yeah, if he loses anymore stride, we might have to replace him with a snail that can take faceoffs
