Max Pacioretty received the green light to come back yesterday. Would have been available to face the Capitals.
Wow. Yesterday's loss hurts more now.

Better for him in the long run that he didn't get the chance...
Use the summer to heal-up Max! Come back stronger than ever next year!!

why didn't they play him last night?
The moral boost coulda put the habs over the top (given them a more spirited start, which killed them) even if he might've had an akward game (been out for months). he wouldn't of been any worse than Kostitsyn.

Antoine Deshaies (Radio Canada) also tweeted that Patches spoke briefly with Chara and forgave him.

We wouldn't have won the Cup with Pacs anyway. Let him heal properly.

Well, I'm happy we lost then. Now we know for sure he'll be good and won't aggravate from coming back too early.
Markov had received the green light too and it took him 7games to get injured again, so did Crosby.
With what he's suffered, I didn't want to see him back this year. With an extra 4-5 months before pre-season, I know he'll be back stronger than ever.

If that's the case then I'm slightly glad we lost in round 1.

Imagine if he came back last night and Ference hit him instead of Halpern.

That hurts...
On the plus side he'll have more time to recover completely. I'm no doctor Recchi obviously but if it means he has less chances to re-injure then it might be better that way. The Caps are not the Bruins but he could have been targeted...

Stings a little, but in the long run it's better for him now to get that extra rest. But wow, green light already? That's insane!

Safe to say that if Patches played in this series, it would have been ours.

Best for him that he didn't play IMO. No need of rushing from such an injury.
