With the emergence of Max Pac and PK this season...

... can we finally stop hearing about how the Canadiens passed on Lucic in the 2006 draft?

Boston passed on McDonagh, Pacioretty, and Subban in 2007 to pick Zack Hamill and Tommy Cross.

I would not say no to having Lucic on my team but I'll take the Max Pac / PK combo over him any day of the week.

Subban has more goals than Lucic, so far, in the playoffs.

Lars Eller matured pretty quickly. He looked awkward early in the year but now he's one of the best skating forwards on the team.

Man, I'm just hoping the Habs can draft a big, skilled centre who will soon have the kind of impact Max-Pac and PK had this season.

A Ryan Getzlaf-type of player would especially be nice

People forget how much of a reach Lucic was at the time, his draft year numbers were pathetic. He's a textbox example of a homerun swing that could have easily have ended up a bust if he didn't make major strides after the draft. There's a lot of random chance in the draft, as seen by the same team that drafted Lucic wasting a top ten pick on Hamil the next year when Couture was on the board.

Huh? I rarely ever heard this.

Everyone loved our '07 draft and rightfully so.
