If that package was all it would take to get Evgeni Malkin, then I would be an ecstatic Leaf fan. Obviously it would take a lot more than that, and as such would likely gut the Leafs' organization of all viable young talent; thus, trying to acquire Malkin through trade is simply not a feasible plan for the Leafs.
Not only that, but Pittsburgh wouldn't want to let Malkin go anyway as he's far too valuable a player for them.
The only way Toronto has any chance at all of acquiring Malkin is if he decides to become an unrestricted free agent after his current contract expires, AND he would have to want to sign in hockey-mad Toronto.
Ultimately, this proposal is nothing more than some blogger's wet-dream.
