Good to have him signed, but they gave him too much money if you ask me.

He already has more success than say a guy like Cloutier, and cloutier makes around 3 a year. Good signing. 3 years from now people will be saying I can't believe he only makes 3.5.

If he plays like last season for the next three then you guys have a steal of a deal. If he comes down off that emotional adrenaline ride and settles down a little you still have a good goalie for the price. He moves laterally as quick as any goalie in the league and is very acrobatic and athletic. I don't think that he will be as good as he was in the playoffs this up coming regular season but I think he will be a good goalie none the less and come playoff time, he proved he is a big game player and can handle the pressure. Hope he is not a flop like your 2 previous goalie signings. Good move for Sutter, hope he performs for you guys, just not against the oilers.

Congratulations!

Great signing by Sutter. I think the money is totally fair for a goaltender of Kipper's stature.

Flames are going to be tough again this year.

Waaaay over paid for a so far... 1 year wonder.
A third string tender for bloody San Jose....
gets 10mill over 3yrs?

Look at Theodore and Guiguire, both took their teams far in the playoffs and the next year bombed ... all basically one hit wonders.

Hopefully Kipper is worth of the money next year. Important signing anyway!

Great deal for the Flames even if he isn't Hasek-esque ever again.

I have to agree here. That's a big investment for a guy who hasn't ever had a full season as a #1 netminder. Khabibulin's big contract set a unrealistic market for goalies I think. I think Kipper will be able to handle the load, but it's still a tad bit risky to invest that much into a goalie that still somewhat needs to prove himself as a true #1......
