Ya know, it DOES take two sides to sign.

Do you know if the Rangers made an offer? Roman Horak was a 5th round pick. Its not gonna take much more than the minimum to sign him.

I would expect that they both have contracts forthcoming.

Wouldn't be surprised it the Rangers side was hesitant with Werek. Would be equally as unsurprised if they signed him and had nothing but praise.

why tie urself up into a contract towards the 50 contract limit before FA if we dont need to sign them to retain their rights?

edit: would they be reentered into this draft if not signed by then?

Both will be signed. The Rangers are very high on both players. Werek's aggressiveness is part of the reason the Rangers liked him. Just because he took some aggressive penalties does not mean the Rangers will withhold his contract. He has 3rd line center written all over him.

The organization praised Horak only a few months ago. Doubt they would not offer him an ELC.

From what i've read they're high on Werek as well.

Both players will be signed. The organization thinks highly of them. I'm not sure how negotiations work, but I wouldn't worry much about it.

Yes I think so, looking at past players who were drafted twice, using Jordan Bendfeld as an example (the most recent) he was drafted #152 by Phoenix in 2006 then drafted again #193 by Edmonton in 2008. All other players I can see on this list were drafted for the second time 2 years after their first. So I can assume as Werek and Horak were both drafted in 2009 if they are not signed they will re-enter the 2011 draft

I think it depends on the age of the player, some will go straight into free agency, some back into the draft.

I dont know the cut off age.

We have until June 1st to sign both of them. If they are unsigned, they will go back into the draft. But really, why would either of them do that? It's much more likely that it would hurt them, rather than help them. I don't know why they haven't signed yet, but they will.

Edit: I believe Jess Rubenstein is correct. We have until June 1st to sign Werek, but we retain Horak's rights indefinitely due to him being drafted out of Europe.
