Yes, you can; there's a 747 that leaves from the airport once an hour from midnight until 5am.

As for concerts, they may be sold out but there's an amazing Montreal band called Godspeed You Black Emperor! who are playing some reunion shows while you're here.

I should have said gravy on the side.

I GOT A HOTEL

Hyatt Regency. $105 a night which is about $100 less on avg from what I see listed at about 8-9 sites. Good location right?

The 747 is a train? Bus? Is the underground open 24/7?

747 is a special bus that leaves from the airport to downtown. Like a 747 jet plane...get it? GET IT?

The metros (I'm assuming that's what you meant by underground) close 12:30-1ish depending on the stop and day, and start back up 6ish (again, depending on the stop) The times should be written outside pretty much every metro.

1 sandwich + fries + 1 black cherry coke = 11$

sit at the bar. great experience.

Well I'd already heard about Le Stud. Read an interview of Chara and when Montreal came up it was all he could talk about.

Essentials while in Montreal:

Go to "La Banquise" for the poutine. Go to "Schwartz" for smoked meat. Late night eats if you end up on St-Laurent: "Le Main". Burger craving? Try "Le Hachoir" on St-Denis or the new "iBurger" downtown. There's an endless supply of amazing restaurants in this city.

Concerts: Not much going on but "The Kills" play at L'Olympia on saturday.

Weather will be nice so I suggest a hike up the Mont-Royal on sunday followed by the "tam tams" reunion which lasts until 6-ish at the bottom of said mountain. It's really cool, trust me.

That's it for now, I might edit some more in later. Have a good trip!

Edit: Best pizza in the city for me is "Pizza Napoletana" in Little Italy. Yummy.

Bily Kun is a nice smallish place on the Plateau.. if you walk on Mont-Royal Ave. you'll find many similar bars (Edgar, Baptiste, Porte Rouge, Boudoir, etc) but mostly french.. Bar Normand is a good sports venue.

The Hyatt is a great hotel. I have stayed there countless times, and it is on Ste Catherines, very close to St. Laurent and across Place des Arts. It's also not a far walk from Old Montreal. It is attached to Complexe Desjardins, so everything that you need is available within the complex itself. It is right on a Metro line as well, and there are tons of restaurants and cafes around.
