As if there was any doubt. What part of, "Lindy ain't goin' nowhere" was unclear. Good.

Excellent.

I'm guessing if Pegula wasn't at the helm, Ruff wouldn't be here anymore.

Anyhow, more fodder for offseason "discussions."

Ta,
Agreed. Unfortunately, there are people like Gleason who continue to speculate that Regier will be replaced this summary despite direct statements to the contrary. There will always be those who take nothing at face value.

As expected.

Hopefully the rest of the off season goes as smoothly.

I think so as well. Likely frustration at having talent removed from lineups and nothing done to replace outgoing players would have put him on the open market.... for a few days.

I wonder what the term is...

If he is in fact interested in being a GM down the road maybe they have him at deal that runs through 12-13, Regier's last year under contract. If Regier ***** the bed with an open check book, maybe they look to Ruff as a replacement?

Probably too much. They should trade him for a #1 center. I think this was just a contract year bump.

Unified front office moving forward together? Good deal.

Wishful thinking on Gleason's part, I think.

Well, it is what it is. Not sure how I feel. On one hand, he's done a great job with the tools he's been given. On the other hand, I worry about his creativity. He certainly deserves this, but I'm not sure if he's the one to take the team all the way.

No, he's going to double as an Asst. GM for half of the ECHL while single-handedly finding a cure for cancer.

Expected, but still cool. I like that they're not wasting time getting things done.

Exactly. No time wasted. Here's the extension, signed, good...lets get to the players. Also, I like that they are moving ahead with putting out a message that "he's our coach, and he's not going anywhere." Gives the players a feel that an organization knows where it wants to go.

Ruff is one of the best broski's in the coaching business. He can't and shouldn't leave Buffalo.

Oh and when Brad Richards signs in Buffalo in the offseason, that will make Pegula the broski of the month of free agency.

I've never been a Lindy apologist, and earlier this year I thought maybe the time had come to consider letting him walk. In saying that, I feel this might have been his best season as a head coach.

I look forward to more years of Lindy getting better, he's come a long way and I admire the fact he's constantly evolving. Right now he is one of the best in the business, especially with his ability to not be stubborn and change things in a system to fit his teams talent.

I like the move for sure and I agree with Pegula that panic never seems to work, especially when you've got someone as smart as Lindy in place.

I just have to wonder at what point does keeping Lindy stop being a good idea and start being Einstein's definition of insanity? Not saying that time is near, or even inevitable, just wondering where that point would lie.
