He wants to come here only cause we have a Casino.
Haha probably. He's the Michael Jordan of hockey, and not because of his play either! He only wishes he could've made the incredible coin MJ has to throw bets on.
Jagr can still play at a high level as evidenced in the Vancouver Olympics,as a longtime hockey fan Jaromir could only help the Habs cause.Definitely has the ability to break games wide open and teach some of the young Habs a few tricks.Bring him back to the NHL for another shot at the Stanley Cup,this time with the legendary Montreal Canadiens. His return could sway Emelin into coming over to join the pursuit of our 25th Cup and parade.
Rumor has had it for a while that he wants to come back to the NHL.
He's still been a PPG player in Russia but who knows what his motives are these days. As someone already mentioned, he's quite the gambler so him playing for money is possibility and if that's the case, I'd be reluctant to look into him as an option.
I see many of you didn't bother reading the English link. It doesn't say Jagr is interested. It says the Habs are interested and he's thinking about it. He's forty and hasn't played at this level for a couple of years.
I'd sign him if he doesn want too much but that does not preclude getting rid of G-Love.
This will never happen. 5 years ago maybe, but he is not the guy that left the NHL. He looks good over there, but that league is basically the AHL with higher salaries. He would hurt more than help.
At 2-3M for a season, I'd be open to it. This should allow us to still fill our holes at other positions and retain who needs to be retained while adding Jagr.
Anything more than that and IMO we are potentially substracting a younger player who could have a bigger more long term impact on this team. (Like AK for example, for despite all his inconsistency can be a Top 6 forward for us for years and he's not worth losing for 1 year of Jagr).
