I would love to see Jagr play here. He was an elite player who I'm sure still has fuel in the tank.

Fyi, he was born 2 years after Robert Lang.

One of my favorite non-Habs over the last decade. Please be true!

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Jagr

Maybe this is why Plekanec went to WC...

Hell ya. Hope this is true. Been a huge Jagr fan forever.

Maybe he could be our Teemu!

Haha probably. He's the Michael Jordan of hockey, and not because of his play either! He only wishes he could've made the incredible coin MJ has to throw bets on.

Jagr can still play at a high level as evidenced in the Vancouver Olympics,as a longtime hockey fan Jaromir could only help the Habs cause.Definitely has the ability to break games wide open and teach some of the young Habs a few tricks.Bring him back to the NHL for another shot at the Stanley Cup,this time with the legendary Montreal Canadiens. His return could sway Emelin into coming over to join the pursuit of our 25th Cup and parade.

Rumor has had it for a while that he wants to come back to the NHL.

He's still been a PPG player in Russia but who knows what his motives are these days. As someone already mentioned, he's quite the gambler so him playing for money is possibility and if that's the case, I'd be reluctant to look into him as an option.

Montreal is packed with great old folks homes. I can see why he'd want to play here.

I see many of you didn't bother reading the English link. It doesn't say Jagr is interested. It says the Habs are interested and he's thinking about it. He's forty and hasn't played at this level for a couple of years.

I'd sign him if he doesn want too much but that does not preclude getting rid of G-Love.

It was a joke . Jagr's skills greatly diminished his last few years in the NHL

Great I'm going to have to purchase another jersey, my wife will kill me

Jagr was my favorite player growing up, this will probably not happen but it would make me very happy if he decided to come

I never liked Jagr, but even if he was 50, he couldn't be any worse than Moen in our Top-6.

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Jagr
Pacioretty - Gomez - Gionta
Desharnais - Eller - Kostitsyn

I could live with that.

This will never happen. 5 years ago maybe, but he is not the guy that left the NHL. He looks good over there, but that league is basically the AHL with higher salaries. He would hurt more than help.

i have my doubts... He'll likely command 5M or so. And how do we pay him with Mr.7.3 Gomez on our team?

We have free Cap space and it might go up a mil or 2, but we have holes on D that need to be refilled...

For the forwards, the only big potential free space is AK -- which i hope we don't give up on him.

We might give up on Pouliot, but he'd only free ~ 1 Million

The rest of our ufa/rfa forwards are league 500K-1M players

Not only that, but the NHL is more physical than the KHL ... Jagr will likely deal with injuries at his age

At 2-3M for a season, I'd be open to it. This should allow us to still fill our holes at other positions and retain who needs to be retained while adding Jagr.

Anything more than that and IMO we are potentially substracting a younger player who could have a bigger more long term impact on this team. (Like AK for example, for despite all his inconsistency can be a Top 6 forward for us for years and he's not worth losing for 1 year of Jagr).
