No one right now can complain about Martin. He has done a great job last year and this year considering all the injured players. Boucher had a great chance in front of him and I don't blame him, a good team and Tampa and working for Yzerman is kinda hard to refuse. As for Muller I also think he is gone but there isn't a reason right now to get rid of Martin

I wouldn't want him as head coach in Montreal. IMO any team that signs him is taking a big risk.

Havent we had enough of taking popular ex-players and bringing them on as rookie head coaches?

Muller coached what, 1 or 2 years of CIS hockey before joining the Habs org as an assistant coach?

Head coaching is quite a bit different from the more limited duties of an assistant, one would think a team would want him to go down to the AHL for his rookie years in professional hockey, especially after the John MacLean fiasco in New Jersey this past season.

But some teams never learn, and thanks to the TSN/CBC hype machine, Muller at this point is probably more hyped up than even Boucher was last season (at least Boucher coached his way successfully through the Q and AHL). I'm sure someone will plunge in and make him an offer, good for Muller I guess, hopefully it doesn't end like it did for MacLean a few months ago. I wouldn't want this Muller expiriment done with the Habs tho.

I'm convinced Boucher will coach the Habs down the stretch.

Kirk Muller to become soon the Head Coach of the Dallas Stars?

Haven't seen a thread on Kirky (if so, merge this thread), but it seems like he's gonna become the new Head Coach of the Dallas Stars sooner than later. I wish him all the best.

When Muller will sign elsewhere, who do you think will take his place on our Coaching Staff?

I hope this gets settled quickly. I don't want to see a new thread about him every other week.

Muller seemed to be the guy on the coaching staff that the players preferred to talk with. A player's coach.

Keep that in mind as the habs look for their replacement.

Seems like its only a matter of crossing the t's and dotting the i's.

These guys were very close to buying the canucks when they were for sale. I know a court battle came out of it against the aqulinis (the current ownership group).

So we get to keep this plug who does nothing but ride a hot goalie and give us the worst hockey in the league. Really nice to see so much talent leaving this org. Cmon where are the people saying "but but he got us to the ECF!!!" Funny how they just disappeared.

Good for him if true.

and even better for him as he'll have the luxury of working without being blamed for everything by everyone within the first two weeks

Like I said in another thread, time will tell if letting Boucher and Muller walk instead of letting Martin walk will be the right decision.

If Muller is as good as the Habs fans think he is, he will be picked up by another team. I don't know what this is based on, however.

If Muller does get an offer, he will take it. Anyone aspiring to a head coach position will not wait in case he gets the job from the current team. And even less if this team's guy is probably going to be in place for a good while.

Just waiting on Tom Gaglardi to become the new owner, before they make the official announcement.

Good luck in Dallas, Kirk!

I'm far less annoyed by this than by Boucher, both because Martin did a much better job this time around (or else he needed a year to get the team up to speed), and because I'm not convinced at all Muller will be an exceptional head coach.
