I would love for us to go out and sign tough rugged Dman as well but Spacek's contract will not allow us to do that. I don't even know if we could get that lot under the cap.

All those people counting out Hal, He played huge minutes for us this year. If i would have told you 2 years ago that Hal freakin gill was going to be one of our top defenseman you would have laughed. This guy is gold. He knows what it takes and is a great influence on the guys. With the eventual departure of Muller, his up beat leadership will be even more valuable next year.

for the whole season, he averaged 2.27 minutes less per game than Subban and Hamrlik...

GOLD ??? that's why you put him on the 3rd pair I assume...

Those 2 play on the pp. Gill does not. Next year thats less of a concern with Weber, markov,subban and wiz hopefully all on the team.

at ES, Subban, Wiz and Hamrlik played more than him... Gorges was also playing more than him at ES for the 36 games he was part of...

Thats wierd, I remember him going up against the other teams top lines with Subban all season. anyways when I watch the games i just notice him on the ice more against the other teams top players. I'd take him over Hamrlik. I think he will be good for weber next year.

I'm with you on this one. Habs will chose Gill over Hamrlik easily. Anyone not knowing this does not follow the team.

Both Price ad Gorges said when the season ended that he is key to the team and in the locker room, yet nothing about Hamrlik.

Gill is less costly, as a specif role with us (PK) and is a great leasder that we need to keep. But as a 3rd pairing guy who plays PK.

Figure out a way to tarde Spacek. Some team needing to reach the cap floor could be interested, floor is rumoured to go to 48M!!! And the cap 64M!!!
