Anyone still surprised this team hasn't managed a single shutout this season?
Not at all. The defensive lapses are ridiculous. First goal: O'Donnell makes a ridiculous pinch, and the Flyers let the Bruins stand around right on top of Boucher until they whack it by him.
Goal 2 was the FLyers goalie bad goal of the game. Boucher made the one great save in the third, but the goalposts were better.
And guess what happens on the winning goal? Flyers have possession of puck in their own zone, cough it up for a pass into the slot.
I'm not taking anything away from the drive and determination. The Flyers -- esp JvR -- were possessed, but it wasn't good enough. It's going to be VERY tough to come back after this one.
Unreal game guys. Flyers definitely deserved to win this game, Thomas just stole it. The B's have to be better if they don't want another choke like last year.
If this is how we go out, at least out of this we know who JVR really is. He's making power moves he couldn't make 2 weeks ago right now. He's maturing at an unbelievable rate. What a force.
Matt Carle is doing something else before our very eyes. Also, Sean O'Donnell is old and the season has taken it's toll. Coburn was very good for the most part. Timonen looks overworked, the minutes without took their toll.
This series isn't over if they play like that every game but they (and Timmy Tommy) made it a lot harder on themselves.
Speed kills the Bruins, Montreal proved it in the first round, that's why JVR is getting so much chances. I can't even count how many times the Bruins D were caught flat footed because of his speed.
Well, Boucher suffered what two sources said appeared to be a dislocated finger in his glove-catching hand when struck by Johnny Boychuk’s shot in the second period. He was replaced by Sergei Bobrovsky with 8:59 left in the frame.
Boucher re-entered the game to start the third period, making that the sixth in-game goalie switch so far these playoffs, but would not meet with the media afterward, probably because he didn’t want them to see his hand.
Laviolette called his injury, “a malfunction.”
“Once the malfunction was fixed, Boosh went back in. I thought he came in and did a great job,” he said.

Thomas had a great game, but the 3 goal posts the Bruins hit says it could have ended in regulation. Don't get me wrong, the desperate team played their ***** off the last 30 mins of the gameand had their own misses. But that's how the home team who is down 1-0 in the series and heading on the road this Wednesday should play. That's how we played in Montreal, that's how Pitt played in Tampa, Philly in Buf, Chicago in Van.....and so on. I refuse to think that Thomas stole this game. He just made the saves when he had to. There was no 'highlight of the night" material in tonights game.
