Who Else Has a Very Hard Time Saying "No" to Prospal?

My head says let him walk for cap space since he's old and has a bad knee, but my heart says this is the exact kind of veteran and role model we need and unquestionably loves playing in MSG for us.

I'm torn...

I absolutely feel the same way. He was awesome for us during the stretch run. I suppose a camp invite would be perfect. If he makes the team then we know he can help. Also gives the kids incentive to work harder.

I think they should hire him as a goal-celebration coach.

Could've taught Naslund a thing or two.

so is his knee. Torts made it sound like Prospal was done but I think we'll see him give it a go in camp. And there, if he earns it, there should be no complaints just like Feds earning a contract.

Peace out, thanks for your time here.

If were going to keep a vet, it better be Feds.

Prospal probably can not make it though a whole season. It should be pretty clear at this point. He played very well in a short time down the stretch. Realistically, Prospal should probably retire. It would be unfair of him to sign a contract for a couple million when it is unlikely that he will be able to contribute consistently and make it through the entire season.

23 points in 29 games. I'd take a cheap 1 year flyer on him or at least a camp tryout.

Prospal quickly became one of my favorite rangers. It's going to suck to see him go, but I just don't think he'll be on the team next year.

I've been a fan of Prospal since 1997. I am particularly pleased that he was able to return this year, as I thought his career was over.

In fewer games and for far less money, he scored more goals than Drury and Avery combined.

I'd love to see him play again, regardless of where, at least to reach 1000 games--which is not too shabby conisdering Brian Burke and others thought he'd never play in the NHL.

In the ultimate scheme of things, I think some team will pick him up next year.

The guys wheels are absolutely shot, but you know what, he makes it work.

Would give him a 1 year low base salaried deal. He wont be blocking any kids.

I hope he signs with us, but it would also be nice to see him sign with a serious contender. He could help out as a depth scoring guy. The guy is everything you want to see in an athlete, and I just wish that he could have won the Cup with Tampa in '04.

Worst case scenario, he gets hurt again.

But, how wise is it to have two guys in the lineup with a bad knee?

I don’t feel its a smart idea to bring Prospal back. Tough decisions have to be made. This is one of them.

Time to move forward.

13th Forward? I would take him over Crusher if it was possible.

Buy out Avery and for 1 million of that money put Prospal in. I'd love to see that.

He's worth a million if for nothing else than veteran leadership with all these young kids. And he still produces when he plays.

If it wasn't for Prospal we don't make the playoffs, imo.

I'd welcome him back but it depends on his knee.

Why is that his knee is bad? He recovered after surgery completely. Yes, he is old. Just don't bring his knee in, it's okay and will only be better, if anything.

How can you not bring the knee up? He missed more than half the season with it. And looked like he had lost a couple steps from last season.

The guy is old, go with a kid like Hagelin, Grachev or Kreider and resign Feds.

So Maklin should be sent to KHL, right?
