Leafs moving up at Draft

If Burke feels that there is someone that he really wants in the draft who will go near the beginning what pick can we get for this package?

Philadelphia's 1st (26-30)
Boston's 1st (24-30)
Toronto's 2nd (39)
Philadelphia's 3rd (86-90)

I doubt Burke does this but I was just wondering ...

I think he can move up around #15 overall if he gives up those two firsts.

If this was next year's draft class, yes.

Because it's the class we have today, no.

That's the kind of deal I could see happening.

Personally, I'd rather we kept our 3 top 40 picks in this draft.

Im in agreement that we just keep our picks where they are. If Im Burke, I only consider moving them in a package for a number one centre.

I'd do that as a Leaf fan, we'd still have our 2nd rounder to move up with the 31st if Burke wanted.

So Edmonton would have 1,25,26

Toronto would have 19,31,39 if they don't move up further.

Good deal both ways.

Once you get past the first dropoff in this draft I think it's pretty deep. IMO you will be able to draft a guy at 30 who's just as good as the guy taken 12th if your scouting is good. I would keep all the picks and forget about moving up if I was Toronto

Most scouts are saying there is very little difference between 15-40. If that's the case -- why would a GM give 3 picks 15-40 -- for the number 15?

Would need to be top 10 at least--otherwise you just take your chances.

If there is some guy the managment REALLY likes and belives will be a quality player for the Leafs, i wouldn't mind moving up from their prospective, but no way should the Leafs move up just for the sake of moving up. Sure we have two first round picks and early 2nd, but both 1st rounders are late and probably won't move us high enough to make the quality of picks noticable.

Might aswell get some good players with 10 picks we have this year, and maybe move up next year with (supposedly) better draft and most likely top 10-15 pick.

Depends on who is still on the board. But if this meant grabbing Puempel/Scheifele/McNeill and Jenner, then I'd do it.

I doubt it considering that's quite a leap for that 2nd. I certainly wouldn't move that far down for just a mid-2nd round pick.

I think moving up 5 spots is a more realistic goal if you're just willing to offer that 2nd rounder.

Burke wants to pick at least twice in the first two rounds. So he wouldn't do that nor do I think that is a good deal for us.

With Washington getting knocked out, they will definitely pick 26. Philly's pick will be 24(if Vancouver gets knocked out) or 25, assuming they lose to Boston.

On the flip side Boston's pick would be 23rd(Vancouver loses) or 24th in the event they blow a 3-0 lead again

While the Avs could use extra picks, would they want to deal away a second early first round pick? That package still might not be enough to pry away that pick.
