If I had to guess right now I would say that the cap in 2012-2013 will be somewhere in the $68M range if this CBA is still in place. The new TV deal and the high $CDN will have a fairly significant impact. Even modest organic growth gets you there.

Right now they have $45.7M committed on 11 players add $9M for Sharp and their goalies (which should get it done) and you have about $13M left to sign 8 players including 2pb guys, a bottom pairing dmen and your three 4th line guys. These six might cost you at most $7M leaving $6M for two more forwards.

Bottomline, Sharp will not be a cap casualty in Chicago.
