On the plus side, Mike Green should be happy: He's never had so many compliments on here.

Well if you guys think he'll fetch a package like Schenn+Kadri for him, no wonder you think it's a **** proposal.

Well, I never said that, but regardless it's a ****** proposal. If you can't see how bad it is I honestly don't know what to tell you. 28 other teams would be lining up to come up with better deals than Gardiner + McKegg. We're talking about a guy who can lead defensemen in points, he's worth roster players, high picks... he's just worth a lot.

I'm not a Caps fan by any stretch, but this really might be one of the worst proposals in HF's history.

That's just *********. There's a proposal right now for any first round pick for Alexander Semin on this board.

A 24 year-old Dion Phaneuf came to the Leafs along with a good defensive prospect for Stajan, Meyers, White and Hagman.

I really can't believe you're trying to justify yourself. Posters like you are why the Leafs get such a bad rep.

The real scary part is, he is dead serious about all this.

This isn't a troll account or a troll thread to make leaf fans look bad... he is dead serious with his proposal.

For serious proposals, that aren't meant for only trolling purposes... I have to agree, this one takes the cake.

I expect puck daddy to post it on his weekly blog to be honest... it is that wretched.

I used to think RogerRoeper was a dupe account made to purposely make leaf fans look bad. But he's serious. Dead serious.

I'm just laughing you can claim this is the worst proposal ever.

It has to be up there. You trade two players, to a Cup contender, for a PPG defenseman. These two players have a combined zero NHL points.

That's usually the stats when prospects that haven't played an NHl game are traded.

The funny thing is, in this thread by Caps fans, they're more realistic in Green's value than most of you are here.

Its highly likely their career highs combined will never be more than Greens career high. This is a brutal proposal and I really can't believe anyone would be this ignorant or stupid to continue defending it, therefore you must be trolling.

Green is looking at a soon-to-be 7+ million per year payday. It makes no sense to pay him that for the Caps.

The Leafs had the same situation: An elite, yet expensive offensive D-man who was bad defensively was traded for very little. (Mccabe).

This idea Green will fetch a huge package is laughable.

Mike Green and his fellow Caps seems to have caught the WCE virus from the 01-04 Canucks. That seems like reason enough for the Leafs to stay away.

The idea that they'll trade him for 2 players who'll highly likely never be impact players in the NHL is laughable.

Your trolls aren't fooling anyone.

Tell me where one of the best defensemen in the NHL is traded for 2 mid level prospects. Cleary can't because you're trolling.

How is Green one of the best defensemen in the NHL? Only in this thread will I hear such nonsense.

And my example is Dan Boyle. Look what he was traded for. Matt Carle, Ty Wishart, and a 4th rounder.

Bryan Mccabe was traded with a fourth rounder for Mike Van Ryn.

Dion Phaneuf and Keith Aulie went for Stajan, Meyers, White, and Hagman.

Oh yeah, they're Leaf prospects, so they're horrible.

HF has Gardiner at #41 in NHL prospects and Mckegg was 8th in OHL scoring this season and looked fantastic.

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/hockey_...ects/?start=40

using HF as the messureing stick for prospects is a bit silly

what is his ranking with hockey news
