Are Flames Going to Sign Nystrom???

They have less then 2 days (Aug 15th) to sign him or he becomes a UFA. The kid ain't that bad and put up respectable numbers in the NCAA. I watched him a few times and hes definitely not one of those players you give up on....im surprised the Flames are going down to the wire with this kid.

From what I've read Sutter seems to really like the kid. I'm sure he'll get a deal done before the deadline.

Looks like Sutter may be going to announce several signings in the one hit. Hamrlik, Nystrom, and Prust are all rumoured to have signed, but nothing has been made official yet.

I wonder if Curtis McElhinney has been signed?

Nystrom better get signed, IMO he will be a big part to this team's future...with him being an integral part in the leadership of the team, defensive core (defensive captain) and grit.

Then who will be the offensive captain?

Hopefully in 3 years, Iginla is resigned (lower amount of course) and he finishes his career or so here (have him signed till about 36 years old) and have guys like Chucko, Kobasew, Boyd, Lombardi, Ryder, Tardiff on the offensive. Plus others of course.

Tardiff turned down the flames offer so is now either a UFA or needs to go back into the draft. The draft didn't seem to go so well for him a few weeks ago.
