He should stick to football. He knows very little about hockey or the Flyers for that matter.

I like Ray Didinger, and I enjoy that he talks hockey is a big hockey fan, but he is far from an authority.

The day this team trades both Richards and Carter is the day this team moves to Winnipeg. (Hint: Neither is happening.) I'm getting sick of Philadelphia saying we have to move on from them; they both have 10+ year contracts. They're not trading them. Get over it.

Even if they wanted to trade either of them, which I don't believe they do, I don't think there's any team in the NHL that is going to trade for a guy on a 10 or 12 year contract unless they're a world-class Crosby/Ovechkin type. No one is ever going to trade for Nicklas Backstrom from the Caps because the guy's on a 10 year deal.

The Flyers need to somehow find a taker for Scott Hartnell and his contract.

Diddy overreacting. WIP really has gone down hill for hockey talk. Even Macnow isn't the hockey expert he once was. Morganti is really the only guy's opinion on hockey that still holds weight with me.

If the Flyers floated that Mike Richards was on the market, they would have every GM in hockey calling them up within an hour. Carter would garner about a dozen calls as well.

Carter for a goalie I'd understand, trading Richards though? Nah. I could see the Flyers taking the C off Richards though. Didn't seem like he stepped up in Pronger's absence.

Sounds good because both of them cannot handle the pressure. Many non hockey experts said that they were "shaking" in the playoffs

If you have been a Flyers fan longer than the past year, you've seen how big Richards can become in the playoffs. It's almost like you're...

Didinger is usually extremely level-headed. I'm shocked he would say this.

While he does know an insane amount of football, he is pretty knowledgeable in every sport. I'm just surprised he would say this. Seems like something Angelo would say instead.

Considering the risk there is associated with a contract of that length, I'm not so sure about that. The two of them are not upper-echelon players to the point that a team would pay no mind to the length of the contract the player is currently on.

If a team would take them on, my guess would be that the length of the contract would lower the compensation the Flyers received. I'm not saying the two of them aren't good players, because they are. Living in South Jersey, I really feel both of them are overrated just a smidgen, but they are very good players. They're just not 10/12 year contract good.

While I dont agree with Ray Didinger, I think he does know somethings about hockey due to the fact that he has been a sports writer in this town for a very long time. just because you write about one sport doesnt mean you cant be knowledgeable about another.
